www.TorahismBook.com - Are Christians required to keep the Law of Moses? How about the Ten Commandments? Was Jesus divine? Join R. L. Solberg in his new book, TORAHISM, where he confronts a modern heresy and dives into these and other critical questions related to the Jewish roots of the Christian faith. "It all began with a series of Facebook posts that an old friend posted just after Thanksgiving. He was aggressively taking Christians to task for celebrating the 'pagan' holiday of Christmas. This struck me as odd because I'd always known he and his wife to be strong Christians. And while I've debated with plenty of atheists over the alleged pagan roots of Christmas, I'd never heard this charge leveled by a fellow Christian. So I decided to chime in on his posts and soon discovered that I had stepped into a mystery of, well, biblical proportions..." ENDORSEMENTS: "Over a decade ago, I came to know Rob Solberg. He impressed me back then with his searching heart, scholarly mind, and passion for apologetics. He has now offered a masterful work, well researched and very well-argued. Were I still a seminary professor, I would require my students to write reviews on this volume." Dr. Stephen Drake, Former Professor of Ministry at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary "Impressively written and researched! Aberrant theologies have existed throughout time, requiring trusted biblical guides to bring much-needed reproof. Rob Solberg does this superbly in his book, Torahism. And, he accomplishes this task with much 'gentleness and respect' (1 Peter 3:15). Even if you are not immediately confronted with this heresy, a careful reading of Rob's book will deepen your understanding of the gospel of Jesus Christ." Ed Smith, Ph.D., President, Williamson College "Engaging and well-developed content on a tough topic. Rob addresses lofty theological issues with incredible accessibility and application. He reminds us to not just stay in our heads and win arguments but to love people well as we fight for what is true." Derek Bareman, Lead Pastor, Church of the City Spring Hill "This is an excellent, balanced, scholarly refutation of the heretical teaching of Torahism. Solberg does so with a wide array of Scripture, great Christian writers across the centuries, and impeccable logic. Not only does it address and answer the challenge of this new heresy, it serves as an apologetic in the best tradition of Christian scholarship. Exceptional work. I have reviewed thousands of books in 30 years. This book deserves to be read!" Reverend David "Doc" Kirby (retired), Host of the On The Bookshelf podcast FROM THE FORWARD BY PAUL WILKINSON, Ph.D. - "The best conversations are those that happen spontaneously amongst sincere, passionate seekers wanting to learn, mature, and progress in their faith and life. R. L. Solberg has blessed us by inviting us into just such a conversation . . . This book is a read that flows because it originates in genuine conversations between friends and passionate believers. It is reminiscent of the ancient dialogues with questions, points, and counterpoints. But be sure to catch this truth: Solberg's work is not about how to do the least work for the most grace, nor is it about how to avoid obligations, duties, and work. No, much more than that, Solberg's question is about how we who claim to be children of God best glorify, worship, and obey him . . . Solberg wants to know what it means to be "godly" and "righteous" in light of the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus. I invite you into Rob and his friends' conversation. I was challenged, encouraged, and taught by the insights he brings to the fore. I pray that you heed his call to take seriously what it means for the Christian to live the godly life; to be like Jesus."

Book Description
Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill. For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled....' Matthew 5:17 Did you know that God promised His new covenant to the House of Israel? Does this exclude Gentile Christians? Who are His people Israel? Is the new covenant a new set of laws to replace the old? You may or may not know that the new covenant is not based on laws or documents but on a person. The new covenant is about relationships—a new relationship to justice, to God's law, and even to God Himself. It is expressed in the life and words of Jesus Christ. But how are we to interpret His life and words? What is the freedom found in the new covenant relationship? Is it freedom to live any way we want? Are there commands given in the new covenant that are specific to that covenant? Christians often stumble when it comes to understanding the work of God's grace from the Old Testament through the New. But an understanding of the covenant God made through the person of Jesus Christ is vital to knowing how to walk in the Spirit every day. Brown reveals the new covenant in a way that is scholarly but accessible, seasoned with salt as well as grace. The Covenant of Freedom illuminates the covenant narrative from Genesis to Revelation and what lies at the heart of Christianity, the promise of God.

Book Description
Taking the New Testament as the charter of Christian liberty, distinguished biblical scholar James D.G. Dunn approaches the complex subject of freedom from the perspective of Scripture in order to demonstrate what is distinctively 'Christian' liberty. After opening with an overview of the historical development of the concept of liberty, Dunn goes on to examine three scriptural test cases that help to elucidate the (often tense) relationship (1) between freedom and authority, as revealed in the responses of Jesus to the dominant conventions of his day, (2) between liberty and the self, derived from Paul's teaching about sin, death, and the law, and (3) between liberty and society, illustrated by a masterly exposition of Romans 14-15. In a day when the forces of fundamentalism are gathering strength once again on all sides, the theme of liberty, and not least 'Christian' liberty, is one that demands attention. This study shows that the freedom of Jesus is something no Christian need fear, that liberty is not a threat to faith but one of its prime expressions.

Book Description
What Jesus Christ did at the cross is what formulated the new covenant and made it a viable force. In this revelatory book, Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart takes his readers from the law given at Mount Sinai to the grace of Calvary’s cross. Though many in the church today still see Him as the law-giver, this Bible-based book shows the Lord Jesus Christ as the forgiver of sins, the Saviour of the world, and the very person of the new covenant. Believers who dare to follow the new covenant and all of its teachings will reap God’s blessing, His favor, and everlasting victory.

Book Description
No one is able to keep all of the laws of the Old Testament - all of the time, not even the holy men of the Old Testament - Moses, King David and others. Jesus himself said that even if you only look at a woman lustfully you have already committed adultery in your heart. Priests and those in leadership within the Church have often been guilty of misusing the laws of Moses by teaching and demanding strict, literal or even excessive conformity to the Old Testament Law. Such practice puts one under the law, and even places the law above the gospel. In his letter to the Galatians Paul teaches that to be a Christian you do not need to be circumcised and that an over emphasis on keeping the laws, including keeping the Sabbath results in legalism and ultimately brings God's Wrath. The opposite of legalism is license - doing whatever you want whenever you want and that you are only responsible to yourself rather than a higher authority. This also brings God's wrath. In this book David Pawson explains how through Christ's death and resurrection, we have been released from the legalism of the Old Testament Laws (which no one is able to keep all of the time), not to do the opposite which will result in sin by doing whatever we please, whenever we want, but through Christ we have been given true liberty ...the liberty to choose not to sin, by walking in the Spirit.

Book Description
Biblical Truth Based Upon Our Firm Foundation of Salvation and Righteousness in Christ Alone - Eradicating Doubt, Fear and Worry. And in the same way He took the cup after they had eaten, saying, "This cup which is poured out for you is the new covenant in My blood. Luke 22:20 NAS. The purpose of these New Covenant Bible studies is to encourage the believer and remove all doubt from their heart of their Fathers love for them and their complete and total forgiveness in Christ. Jesus often said, "Oh you of little faith." God desires that we live from faith to faith for our own benefit, with no doubt, fear, worry or anxiety in between. It is only Satan who wants believers to doubt God's love and complete and total forgiveness towards those who believe. He knows that if we doubt God's forgiveness for our past, present, and future sins even a little, we will doubt God's love for us. This will lead us to live in insecurity that manifests itself in acts of sin and the inability to love others as God loves us. We cannot love much and walk by the Spirit until we know for certain we have been forgiven totally (Luke 7:47). If we live in doubt, Satan wins in this life because he knows that "Love" is the only thing that fulfills God's law (Rom 13:8-10). The truth is there is absolutely no condemnation under the New Covenant of Grace and truth Jesus blood was shed to bring. If you are walking in fear, guilt, worry, repetitive sin and condemnation, you are displaying symptoms of unbelief to parts of the message of His righteousness and grace.
