Book Description
Nana's Adventures in Heaven is a wonderful book about heaven and what it will be like. Nana had a dream that inspired her to know what Heaven would be like when she gets there. This book has been received with rave reviews from children and elderly alike. It offers a peace of mind and a warm heart. Look for the next book to follow... Pop-pop's Adventures in Heaven Introduction of the book: Heaven is almost indescribable and filled with so much love I had to share and comfort others. Why I wrote this story... I had been sick with cancer for a long time and was saddened to think of the end. My future looked bleak and I was doubtful about the afterlife and was never very sure of Heaven and what it would be like which is why this hit me so hard. I began to pray and pray very hard for God to grant me the end of my life. I was so tired of suffering, feeling ill and continuing with chemotherapy. I was ready to quit it all when one day my grandchildren came to visit me. My appearance was not what they were expecting to see. I sat there with no hair, dark eyes and extremely thin from the weight I lost. That night when they left I was terribly sad and prayed for God to end my life, but was afraid of what the afterlife was to hold for me. Unbeknownst to me that night my grandchildren prayed very hard for me to get well. As I fell asleep that night I had the most vivid and very real dream about heaven. The happiness I felt filled my heart and soul. I can barely explain the amount of joy, love and most importantly health I felt. When I awoke the next morning I was sad to discover I wasn't there anymore, but the thought came to me as if God spoke directly to me...write it for your grandchildren. This book describes the sights, brilliant colors and things I saw on my brief visit to heaven. I dedicate this book to my grandchildren and all children so they may know that their loved ones are beyond happy and they are in the most wonderful place they can imagine. It is a place where love flows beyond measure and where we look on our loved ones left behind. It is a wonderful place where one day I will return and pray it gives love and hope to all who read it.

Book Description
Lorene Cary’s grandmother moves in, and everything changes: day-to-day life, family relationships, the Nana she knew—even their shared past. From cherished memories of weekends she spent as a child with her indulgent Nana to the reality of the year she spent “ladysitting” her now frail grandmother, Lorene Cary journeys through stories of their time together and five generations of their African American family. Brilliantly weaving a narrative of her complicated yet transformative relationship with Nana—a fierce, stubborn, and independent woman, who managed a business until she was 100—Cary looks at Nana’s impulse to control people and fate, from the early death of her mother and oppression in the Jim Crow South to living on her own in her New Jersey home. Cary knew there might be some reckonings to come. Nana was a force: Her obstinacy could come out in unanticipated ways—secretly getting a driver’s license to show up her husband, carrying on a longtime feud with Cary’s father. But Nana could also be devoted: to Nana’s father, to black causes, and—Cary had thought—to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Facing the inevitable end raises tensions, with Cary drawing on her spirituality and Nana consoling herself with late-night sweets and the loyalty of caregivers. When Nana doubts Cary’s dedication, Cary must go deeper into understanding this complicated woman. In Ladysitting, Cary captures the ruptures, love, and, perhaps, forgiveness that can occur in a family as she bears witness to her grandmother’s 101 vibrant years of life.

Book Description
The story of Carried is based on a blog by the parents of E, a two-year-old. The story is one of her and her family, told from the point of view of E and her mother. The family blogged from Es point of view almost daily as a way to document her journey with AML (acute myeloid leukemia). Not sure if E would be a statistic or survive, the family decided to document the story from her point of view. The chapter Faith is about having faith in Gods plan. The chapter Hope is about hope that E would survive and that the family would make it through the rough rebuilding of their normal lives. The chapter Love is about what it is like to raise a child that has lived in a hospital. The story is not one of a perfect life or a perfect journey. It is perfectly messy and portrays the real life of the family.
