Frances Sydnor Tehie was an extraordinarily sensitive and talented poet who relished beauty in everyday life and believed highly in the importance of creativity. This belief is mentioned in her poem, "The Gift Bestowed," in which she reflects on her older sister's interest and talent at sewing from a young age. The title of this poem refers to the concept of making a lasting contribution for which one will never be forgotten.
