Book Description

Book Description
LES PROCEDURES DE TEST ET DE DIAGNOSTIC SONT DES ETAPES OBLIGEES DE LA PRODUCTION DES SYTEMES COMPLEXES, ET EN PARTICULIER DES SYSTEMES INFORMATIQUES. CEPENDANT, LES EVOLUTIONS TECHNOLOGIQUES ET LES CONTRAINTES DE COUT DE FABRICATION METTENT EN EVIDENCE LES LIMITES DE METHODES DE TEST ET DE DIAGNOSTIC TRADITIONNELLES. LES TRAVAUX QUE NOUS PRESENTONS CONTRIBUENT A LA DEFINITION DE SYSTEMES AUTOMATIQUES DE DIAGNOSTIC REPOSANT SUR DES TECHNIQUES D'INTELLIGENCE ARTIFICIELLE. LA MODELISATION DES RAISONNEMENTS QUE NOUS AVONS CONCUE EST ORIENTEE VERS DEUX PRINCIPES ESSENTIELS LIES AUX SPECIFICITES DU PROCESSUS DE DIAGNOSTIC: 1) L'EXPRESSION EXPLICITE D'HYPOTHESES SUR LA LOCALISATION DES DEFAILLANCES; 2) LE RAISONNEMENT SUR DES ETATS SUCCESSIFS DU SYSTEME INFORMATIQUE A DIAGNOSTIQUER. LA STRUCTURATION DES RAISONNEMENTS ET DES CONNAISSANCES NOUS A CONDUIT A LA DEFINITION ET L'IMPLEMENTATION D'UNE ARCHITECTURE MULTI-EXPERTS INSPIREE DU MODELE DE TABLEAU NOIR. ENFIN, DANS LE SOUCI DE PRODUIRE DES SYSTEMES DE DIAGNOSTIC QUI SOIENT FIABLES ET PERFORMANTS, NOUS NOUS SOMMES INTERESSES AUX PROBLEMES DE LA COHERENCE ET DE LA VALIDATION DES SYSTEMES A BASES DE CONNAISSANCES. AINSI, NOUS AVONS SPECIFIE UN OUTIL D'AIDE A LA VALIDATION QUI DONNE UNE VUE SUR L'EVOLUTION DES PERFORMANCES DU SYSTEME DE DIAGNOSTIC. CES TRAVAUX ONT CONTRIBUE A LA CONCEPTION DE L'ENVIRONNEMENT DE DEVELOPPEMENT DE SYSTEMES EXPERTS, BULL-OASIS

Book Description
A detailed and thorough reference on the discipline and practice of systems engineering The objective of the International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE) Systems Engineering Handbook is to describe key process activities performed by systems engineers and other engineering professionals throughout the life cycle of a system. The book covers a wide range of fundamental system concepts that broaden the thinking of the systems engineering practitioner, such as system thinking, system science, life cycle management, specialty engineering, system of systems, and agile and iterative methods. This book also defines the discipline and practice of systems engineering for students and practicing professionals alike, providing an authoritative reference that is acknowledged worldwide. The latest edition of the INCOSE Systems Engineering Handbook: Is consistent with ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288:2015 Systems and software engineering—System life cycle processes and the Guide to the Systems Engineering Body of Knowledge (SEBoK) Has been updated to include the latest concepts of the INCOSE working groups Is the body of knowledge for the INCOSE Certification Process This book is ideal for any engineering professional who has an interest in or needs to apply systems engineering practices. This includes the experienced systems engineer who needs a convenient reference, a product engineer or engineer in another discipline who needs to perform systems engineering, a new systems engineer, or anyone interested in learning more about systems engineering.

Book Description
In the late eighties large-scale control operations were carried out to control a major desert locust upsurge in Africa. For the first time since the banning of organochlorine pesticides these operations relied mainly on non-persistent pesticides such as organophosphates and pyrethroids. The amount of pesticides sprayed and the area covered were probably the highest in the history of locust control and raised criticism with respect to efficacy, economic viability and environmental impact. As a consequence, applied research into the problem was intensified, both at the national and the international level, with the goal of finding new and environmentally sound approaches and solutions to locust and grasshopper control. Emphasis was laid on developing new control agents and techniques.

Book Description
The Mediterranean area shows a great diversity of livestock systems, depending on local resources and traditions, but also on the networking space where informational resources are available for producers. During the last decades, a lot of innovations have been conceived or introduced in the Mediterranean area, allowing livestock systems to remain competitive. The book looks at two main issues: firstly, it gives an updated review on the main innovations that significantly changed the activities of livestock production in the Mediterranean area in the recent past. Secondly, the focus lies on the extent to which these innovations improve the efficiency, ensure the socio-cultural basis or reduce the environmental impact of livestock systems. One major finding is a new vision of innovating systems based on the distinction between regulated innovation (when aims are fixed) and innovative design (when aims are questioned). Innovations reported in the book are dealing with a set of concerns. They concern the production techniques, the work organization, the equipment and infrastructures, the collective features for selection, reproduction, feeding or sanitary devices. They also concern the local organization such as product labelling, new dynamics around local breeds, collective rules for supply basin or approaches of new products for new markets. More recently, some innovations focus on environmental impacts of livestock production, due to an increasing consciousness of those kinds of problems. In the final part of the book, a round table copes with a crucial question: are traditions in Mediterranean livestock activities to be considered an obstacle or a source of innovation? This book provides a set of updated information and knowledge useful for researchers, students, extension services and policy-makers in the field of animal science.
