Book Description
CE MEMOIRE DE THESE S'INSCRIT DANS LE CADRE DE LA MODELISATION AUTOMATIQUE DE SCENES 3D A PARTIR DE SEQUENCES D'IMAGES NON CALIBREES. EN L'ABSENCE D'INFORMATION SUR LA SCENE ET LA CAMERA, LA GEOMETRIE PROJECTIVE FOURNIT LE CADRE THEORIQUE PERMETTANT L'AUTOMATISATION RECHERCHEE. EN CONSEQUENCE, TOUTES LES ETAPES DE LA MODELISATION SONT EFFECTUEES EN PROJECTIF : LA CALIBRATION DES CAMERAS AYANT ACQUIS LA SEQUENCE, LE CALCUL D'UNE RECONSTRUCTION DENSE ET LA TRIANGULATION DES DONNEES. DANS LA PREMIERE ETAPE DE CALIBRATION PROJECTIVE, NOUS AVONS DEVELOPPE LES OUTILS ALGORITHMIQUES D'ANALYSE DE LA SEQUENCE D'IMAGES DESTINES A SEGMENTER TEMPORELLEMENT CETTE DERNIERE, DE MANIERE A GARANTIR LE BON CONDITIONNEMENT DES ALGORITHMES DE CALIBRATION PROJECTIVE. CETTE CALIBRATION PROJECTIVE EST EN FAIT UNE SUCCESSION D'ESTIMATIONS DE MODELES DE PLUS EN PLUS COMPLETS. NOUS TERMINONS PAR UNE CALIBRATION COMPLETE DE LA SEQUENCE D'IMAGES ORIGINALE A PARTIR DE LA CALIBRATION DE LA SEQUENCE ECHANTILLONNEE. LE PROCESSUS DE RECONSTRUCTION PROJECTIVE DENSE VISE A OBTENIR LE MAXIMUM DE MESURES 3D SUR LA SCENE OBSERVEE. NOUS MONTRONS ICI COMMENT ETENDRE LES ALGORITHMES DE CORRELATION MULTI-IMAGES A LA RECONSTRUCTION PROJECTIVE. POUR PERMETTRE UNE REELLE AUTOMATISATION, LE PROBLEME D'INITIALISATION DE CERTAINS PARAMETRES DE LA CORRELATION EST RESOLU EN UTILISANT LA CALIBRATION ET LA RECONSTRUCTION PROJECTIVES DE L'ETAPE PRECEDENTE. ENFIN, LA TRIANGULATION PROJECTIVE VISE A CARACTERISER LA TOPOLOGIE DE LA SCENE A PARTIR DES RECONSTRUCTIONS CALCULEES PRECEDEMMENT EN PRODUISANT UNE TRIANGULATION QUI REPRESENTE LA SURFACE DES OBJETS OBSERVES. NOUS PROPOSONS DANS CE BUT UNE METHODE NOVATRICE DE TRIANGULATION D'UNE RECONSTRUCTION PROJECTIVE SANS AUCUNE CONNAISSANCE DE LA STRUCTURE EUCLIDIENNE SOUS-JACENTE. L'ASPECT APPLICATIF N'EST PAS OUBLIE PUISQUE SONT EGALEMENT DEVELOPPEES PLUSIEURS METHODES DE RECALAGE DE RECONSTRUCTION PERMETTANT LE GEOREFERENCEMENT DU MODELE PROJECTIF DE LA SCENE.

Book Description

Book Description
The purpose of A Practical Approach to Robustness Analysis with Aeronautical Applications is twofold. First, it is to introduce as clearly as possible the mu framework, while the second is to emphasize its practical usefulness. To this aim, classical and advanced mu tools are first presented, then applied to a range of engineering problems, namely a missile, a large rigid or flexible transport aircraft and a highly flexible telescope mock-up.

Book Description
This monograph by one of the world's leading vision researchers provides a thorough, mathematically rigorous exposition of a broad and vital area in computer vision: the problems and techniques related to three-dimensional (stereo) vision and motion. The emphasis is on using geometry to solve problems in stereo and motion, with examples from navigation and object recognition. Faugeras takes up such important problems in computer vision as projective geometry, camera calibration, edge detection, stereo vision (with many examples on real images), different kinds of representations and transformations (especially 3-D rotations), uncertainty and methods of addressing it, and object representation and recognition. His theoretical account is illustrated with the results of actual working programs.Three-Dimensional Computer Vision proposes solutions to problems arising from a specific robotics scenario in which a system must perceive and act. Moving about an unknown environment, the system has to avoid static and mobile obstacles, build models of objects and places in order to be able to recognize and locate them, and characterize its own motion and that of moving objects, by providing descriptions of the corresponding three-dimensional motions. The ideas generated, however, can be used indifferent settings, resulting in a general book on computer vision that reveals the fascinating relationship of three-dimensional geometry and the imaging process.

Book Description
The concept of remote sensing as a way of capturing information from an object without making contact with it has, until recently, been exclusively focused on the use of Earth observation satellites. The emergence of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) with Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) controlled navigation and sensor-carrying capabilities has increased the number of publications related to new remote sensing from much closer distances. Previous knowledge about the behavior of the Earth's surface under the incidence different wavelengths of energy has been successfully applied to a large amount of data recorded from UAVs, thereby increasing the special and temporal resolution of the products obtained. More specifically, the ability of UAVs to be positioned in the air at pre-programmed coordinate points; to track flight paths; and in any case, to record the coordinates of the sensor position at the time of the shot and at the pitch, yaw, and roll angles have opened an interesting field of applications for low-altitude aerial photogrammetry, known as UAV photogrammetry. In addition, photogrammetric data processing has been improved thanks to the combination of new algorithms, e.g., structure from motion (SfM), which solves the collinearity equations without the need for any control point, producing a cloud of points referenced to an arbitrary coordinate system and a full camera calibration, and the multi-view stereopsis (MVS) algorithm, which applies an expanding procedure of sparse set of matched keypoints in order to obtain a dense point cloud. The set of technical advances described above allows for geometric modeling of terrain surfaces with high accuracy, minimizing the need for topographic campaigns for georeferencing of such products. This Special Issue aims to compile some applications realized thanks to the synergies established between new remote sensing from close distances and UAV photogrammetry.
