Excerpt from Minutes of the Sixty-First Annual Session of the Tuskaloosa Baptist Association: Held With Mount Zion Church, Tuskaloosa, Alabama, From the 6th to the 8th of September 1893 After taking a recess for two hours, ' during which the dele gates and visitors enjoyed a most bountiful dinner, spread by the good citizens of the community, the Association assem bled in the meeting-house, and the exercises were opened with singing and prayer by Elder W. B. Crumpton. W. H. Wilds, the former Moderator, being absent from sickness, on motion, Elder J. H. Curry was called tothe chair till the Association should be organized. On the roll of the churches being called, the delegates presented their letters and voted for Moderator of the present session. The election resulted in the choice of Elder J. H. Curry. At the request of the Moderator, the let ters were read by Bros. Robison Brown and J. S. Yerby. The letters were in much better shape than usual, and brought to light cheering tokens of health and growth in the churches. The names of churches and the delegates from each may be seen from the following list. (names of ordained ministers written in small capitals; names of licentiates in italics.
