This Association shall be denominated and known as the Cumberland Baptist Association. Article 2. The object of this Association shall be the promotion of Christ's Kingdom among men, and the means of accomplishing this shall be in strict conformity With the New Testament. Article 3. This Association shall be composed of delegates chosen by the churches connected with it, each church being entitled to three delegates, and the ordained ministers having care of churches in this Association. Article 4. Excerpt from History of the Cedar Creek Baptist Association In view of the great need of more light relative to the work of the Baptist de nomination, and in view of the fact that the rising generation, and also a great many of the old, know but little about the great work performed within the last twenty-five years, the writer of this work has undertaken to sum up, as in a nut shell, the work of one-fourth of a century of the Cedar Creek Association. The correctness of this work depends upon the correctness of the Minutes of the Associ ation. The writer's object will be to show what has been done and by whom the work was performed.
