Author: Cheeneebash, Jayrani
Publisher: African Minds
ISBN: 1920677534
Category : Technology & Engineering
Languages : en
Pages : 82
Book Description
The study of the channel allocation problem has received much attention during the last decade. Several techniques such as genetic algorithm, artificial neural network, simulated annealing, tabu search and others have been used. This book is devoted to compiling all the techniques that have been used to solve the channel allocation problem. Each of the methods is described fully in a manner that explains the essential parts of how the techniques are formulated and applied in solving the problem. This textbook will be helpful to students studying communications or researchers as it compiles all the techniques used since this problem was first solved.

Channel Assignment in Multi-radio Networks
Author: Amalya Mihnea
Publisher:
ISBN:
Category : Adaptive signal processing
Languages : en
Pages : 122
Book Description
Channel assignment in multi-radio networks is a topic of great importance because the use of multiple channels and multiple radios reduces interference and increases the network throughput. The goal of our research is to design algorithms that maximize the use of available resources while providing robustness to primary users that could reclaim one or more channels. Our algorithms could be used in ad hoc networks, mesh networks, and sensor networks where nodes are equipped with multiple radios. We design algorithms for channel assignment which provide robustness to primary users without assuming an accurate primary user behavior model. We also compute bounds for capacity in grid networks and discuss how the capacity of a network changes when multiple channels are available. Since preserving energy is very important in wireless networks, we focus on algorithms that do not require powerful resources and which use a reduced number of messages.

Radio Resource Management in Wireless Networks
Author: Ekram Hossain
Publisher: Cambridge University Press
ISBN: 1108158358
Category : Technology & Engineering
Languages : en
Pages : 433
Book Description
Do you need to design efficient wireless communications systems? This unique text provides detailed coverage of radio resource allocation problems in wireless networks and the techniques that can be used to solve them. Covering basic principles and mathematical algorithms, and with a particular focus on power control and channel allocation, you will learn how to model, analyze, and optimize the allocation of resources in both physical and data link layers, and for a range of different network types. Both established and emerging networks are considered, including CDMA and OFDMA wireless networks, relay-based wireless networks, and cognitive radio networks. Numerous exercises help you put knowledge into practice, and provide the tools needed to address some of the current research problems in the field. This is an essential reference whether you are a graduate student, researcher or industry professional working in the field of wireless communication networks.
