Book Description
This thesis presents a measurement of the branching fraction for the exclusive semileptonic decay {bar B}{sup 0} {yields} D*{sup +}{mu}{sup -}{nu}{sub {mu}}. This decay is essentially the decay of a b quark to a c quark inside the meson with the release of a muon and neutrino, and it provides a very clean signal for measuring various B meson decay properties. the data for this measurement consist of 22.3 million B{bar B} pairs collected by the BABAR detector at the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center in 1999-2000. The branching fraction is measured to be {Beta}({bar B}{sup 0} {yields} D*{sup +}{mu}{sup -}{bar {nu}}{sub {mu}}) = [4.72 {+-} 0.10 (data stat.) {+-} 0.06 (MC stat.) {+-} 0.20 (syst.) {+-} 0.17 (other {Beta})]%.

Book Description
Semileptonic B meson decays into final states containing the [tau] lepton are of interesting as they provide information on the Standard Model as well as a window on new physics effects. We present results on {bar B} → D{sup (*)} [tau]{bar {nu}}{sub {tau}} decays where the second B in the event is fully reconstructed.

Book Description
We have studied the decay[bar B][yields] D[ell][bar[nu]], where[ell]= e or[mu]. From a fit to the differential decay rate d[Lambda]/dw we measure the rate normalization F[sub D](1)V[sub cb] and form factor slope[rho][sub D][sup 2], and, using measured values of[tau][sub B], find[Lambda]([bar B][yields] D[ell][bar[nu]])= (12.0[+-] 0.9[+-] 2.1) ns[sup -1]. The resulting branching fractions are[Beta]([bar B][sup 0][yields] D[sup+][ell][sup -][bar[nu]])= (1.87[+-] 0.15[+-] 0.32)% and[Beta](B[sup -][yields] D[sup 0][ell][sup -][bar[nu]])= (1.94[+-] 0.15[+-] 0.34)%. The form factor parameters are in agreement with those measured in[bar B][yields] D*[ell][bar[nu]] decays, as predicted by heavy quark effective theory.

Book Description
We have searched for the decays B[yields][mu][bar[nu]][sub[mu]][gamma] and B[yields] e[bar[nu]][sub e][gamma] in a sample of 2.7 million charged B decays collected with the CLEO II detector. In the muon channel, we observe no candidates in the signal region and set an upper limit on the branching fraction of[Beta](B[yields][mu][bar[nu]][sub[mu]][gamma])

Book Description
The authors present a measurement of the branching fraction for the decay B[sup -] [yields] D[sup 0]K*[sup -] using a sample of approximately 86 million B[bar B] pairs collected by the BABAR detector from e[sup +]e[sup -] collisions near the [Upsilon](4S) resonance. The D[sup 0] is detected through its decays to K[sup -] [pi][sup +], K[sup -][pi][sup +][pi][sup 0] and K[sup -] [pi][sup +][pi][sup -][pi][sup +], and the K*[sup -] through its decay to K[sub S][sup 0] [pi][sup -]. They measure the branching fraction to be [Beta](B[sup -] [yields] D[sup 0]K*[sup -]) = (6.3 [+-] 0.7(stat.) [+-] 0.5(syst.)) x 10[sup -4].

Book Description
We present measurements of the inclusive semileptonic branching fractions of charged and neutral B mesons using 20.6 fb-1 of data measured at the Upsilon(4S) with the BABAR detector. Events are tagged with a fully reconstructed hadronic decay of a B meson. The correlation between the flavor of the tag B meson and the electron charge allows the separation of prompt semileptonic B decays and cascade semileptonic charm decays. We obtain the preliminary inclusive semileptonic branching fraction of charged B mesons b+ = 0.103+/-0.006+/-0.005, neutral B mesons b0 = 0.104+/-0.008+/-0.005, their average b = 0.104+/-0.005+/-0.004, and their ratio b+/b0 = 0.99+/-0.10+/-0.03.

Book Description
Using about 23M B[bar B] events collected in 1999-2000 with the BABAR detector, they report on the decays B[yields] D(*)[bar D](*)K and B[sup 0][yields] D*[sup+]D*[sup -]. The branching fractions of the low background decay modes B[sup 0][yields] D*[sup -] D(*)[sup 0]K[sup+] are determined to be[Beta](B[sup 0][yields] D*[sup -] D[sup 0]K[sup+])= (2.8[+-] 0.7[+-] 0.5) x 10[sup -3] and[Beta](B[sup 0][yields] D*[sup -]D*[sup 0]K[sup+])= (6.8[+-] 1.7[+-] 1.7) x 10[sup -3], where the first error quoted is statistical and the second systematic. Observation of a significant number of candidates in the color-suppressed decay mode B[sup+][yields] D*[sup+]D*[sup -] K[sup+] is reported with a branching fraction[Beta](B[sup+][yields] D*[sup+]D*[sup -] K[sup+])= (3.4[+-] 1.6[+-] 0.9) x 10[sup -3]. Decays of the type B[yields] D(*)[bar D](*) can be used to provide a measurement of the parameter sin2[beta] of the Unitarity Triangle. For this decay mode they measure a branching fraction of[Beta](B[sup 0][yields] D*[sup+]D*[sup -])= (8.0[+-] 1.6[+-] 1.2) x 10[sup -4].
