After a petition has been received and noted in the minutes, it shall not be withdrawn without the consent of three-fourths of the members present. Article VIII. Fees. Sec. I. The fees for conferring the degrees in this Lodge shall be thirty-five dollars, as follows: For the first degree, fifteen dollars; for the second degree, ten dollars; for the third degree, ten dollars; for admission to membership, one dollar; and in no case shall a ballot be taken until the money required for the fee shall be in actual deposit. Article IX. Examinations. Sec. I. Previous to advancements all candidates shall be examined, in open lodge, in the degree which they have taken, and be found to possess at least a knowledge of that degree.
