Book Description
The recent CTA workshop on ‘catalysing actionable knowledge to enhance next-generation ACP agribusiness through digitalisation’ identified five intersecting drivers that explain what farmer-oriented agribusiness expect to achieve by investing in digitalisation: reduce risk, raise productivity, increase efficiency, improve decisions, and enhance market access. Participants argued that digital interventions all serve one or more of these, depending on specific local needs and situations. A critical factor underpinning what works in all these areas is the economic sustainability of the business models used to deliver value and services. This brief by Valarie Pilgrim argues that the sustainability of digital agribusiness projects can be enhanced through three main steps: 1) plan for sustainability in the initial project design, 2) monitor sustainability readiness throughout the life-cycle of the project, and 3) verify that indicators of sustainability have been achieved during the project close-off process.

Book Description
Agricultural Sustainability is a combination of technologies and implementation processes that are used to manage information-related with maintenance of equilibrium condition in the scenario of productivity level in the field of agriculture. Sustainable agriculture is not just about food security, the protection of crops and its cultivation or while it is being processed; it is also about the protection of environment with economic equity and profitability. This is a composite field involving agricultural science, engineering, database and soil-based crop management, user training, and policy issues. A common objective of work in this field is to protect the environment and defend degeneration systems by ensuring resource availability, its integrity, authentication and confidentiality so that the right action can be accessed with the right information and direction at the right time. The book contains 33 chapters pertaining to sections on (i) water resource management (ii) irrigation water management (iii) soil resource management (iv) sustainability in agriculture and (v) crop management and productivity with the content contributed by eminent researchers throughout the world. The book will come as an important contribution to the latest agricultural technologies in bridging up the gap of scientific information to the researchers and policy makers in different relevant field of specialization.

Book Description
The book discusses the best international practices in digital agriculture. The book aims to form systemic scientific and methodological support and develop comprehensive applied solutions to unlock the potential of sustainable development of digital agriculture for food security. The book’s contribution to the literature lies in its comprehensive treatment of public and corporate management of farms representing digital agriculture. The research novelty is associated with the systemic disclosure of economic, legal, and technological issues in the development of digital agriculture. Thus, the book provides a solid foundation for integrating food security interests into farming practices. The first part of the book reflects the economic, legal, and technological support of quality management and sustainable development in digital agribusiness based on the best international practices. The second part focuses on Russian and international agricultural policies for food security. The book is intended for members of the academic community who will find promising solutions to current problems of food security through the development of digital agriculture. The book will also be of interest to farmers and representatives of the state regulation of the agricultural economy. In this book, they will find practical recommendations for improving government and corporate management of food security through the development of digital agriculture.

Book Description
"Transforming Agricultural Management for a Sustainable Future: Climate Change and Machine Learning Perspectives" is an essential read for anyone interested in the future of agriculture and the role that technology can play in mitigating the impact of climate change. The book delves into the challenges facing agriculture today, such as climate change, soil degradation, and water scarcity. It then explores how machine learning can be used to overcome these challenges and promote sustainable agricultural practices. One of the key takeaways from the book is the importance of data-driven decision-making in agriculture. With the help of machine learning algorithms, farmers can analyze vast amounts of data, such as weather patterns, soil quality, and crop yields, to make informed decisions about planting, irrigation, and fertilizer use. By using this data, farmers can optimize their yields while minimizing their impact on the environment. Another important aspect of the book is its focus on climate change. Agriculture is one of the largest contributors to greenhouse gas emissions, and farmers are already feeling the impact of climate change through droughts, floods, and other extreme weather events. The book provides a comprehensive overview of the ways in which machine learning can be used to reduce the impact of agriculture on the environment, such as by optimizing irrigation and reducing fertilizer use. The book also explores the role of technology in promoting sustainable agriculture practices. For example, precision agriculture techniques, such as GPS-guided tractors and drones, can help farmers reduce waste and improve crop yields. The book provides examples of how these techniques are already being used in practice, and how they can be further developed to promote sustainability. Overall, "Transforming Agricultural Management for a Sustainable Future: Climate Change and Machine Learning Perspectives" is an insightful and informative read for anyone interested in the future of agriculture. The book provides a comprehensive overview of the challenges facing agriculture today and the ways in which technology can be used to overcome these challenges and promote sustainable practices. It is a must-read for farmers, policymakers, and anyone interested in the future of our planet.

Book Description
The world population is increasing while arable land is decreasing at an alarming rate. About one-quarter of arable land is degraded and needs significant restoration before it can sustain crops again. By 2030, the water supply will fall 40% short of meeting global demand. Moreover, looming climate change poses additional challenge to increasing food production to feed 10 billion people by 2050. Current major agricultural systems are on a largely unsustainable trajectory because of their contributions to greenhouse gas emissions, water pollution, and biodiversity loss. For these reasons, innovative technologies are being introduced in modern agriculture to sustain food production. They include digital and geospatial technologies to manage soil, climate and plant genetic resources. With the development of tools and sensors integrated into the internet of things (IoT) environment, physically collected information is converted into computer-readable language. Digital innovations thus allow real-time analysis, machine learning, and artificial intelligence (AI) that manage massive amount of data, also known as big data. Accordingly, digital agriculture affords greater potential for sustainable farming and economic benefits. This book summarizes the latest advances in AI-integration of agriculture practices. Specific focus includes but not limited to, big data, yield mapping, pests management, and optimal fertigation. As such, it presents a forward-looking approach to meet multiple UN Sustainable Development Goals, specifically, SDG 2, 6, 13 and 15.
