This story is about Lily who is an orphaned girl who is living in an orphanage with her best friends Toby and Maggie as they then head to the forest one day on a day trip with the orphanage the three friends find a mysterious egg deep within the forest. Lily and her friends do wonder what is in this mysterious egg as she takes it back to the orphanage as she hides it in her shared bedroom underneath her bed. Lily is such a lovely girl, but she is an orphan as her parents had tragical died in a house fire two years before Lily's birthday. As Lily then settles into the orphanage, she quickly makes friends with two other children named Toby and Maggie. The three of them become great friends as they look out for each other. All the orphanage then goes to the forest the next following day as it was their annual field trip which everyone gets excited for every year. As it was Lily's first ever time to go, she and her friend end up partaking in activities led by the orphanage and as the day was coming to an end, they all had some free time. As the group of children then find a mysterious egg in the middle of the forest. Curious about the mysterious egg as the whistle was blown by the adults. Lily puts the mysterious egg in her backpack as they all headed back to the bus. As Lily and her friends head back to the orphanage as it was time for bed. As the lights were turned off in the bedrooms. Lily then heads to the bathroom and unpacks her bag to find the mysterious egg starting to crack.
