À PROPOS DE L'AUTEUR Dr. Jos NOORDHUIZEN a été diplômé DMV en janvier 1975 à l’Université d’Utrecht, Pays Bas. Il a ensuite passé 3 ans de spécialisation en Gynécologie et Obstétrique des bovins, chevaux, porcs, et a été formé dans le suivi de la reproduction des troupeaux de bovins laitiers à Utrecht. Puis il a rejoint un cabinet vétérinaire privé dans le sud et puis l'ouest des Pays Bas. Il a été embauché à la Faculté d’Utrecht pour développer un programme de suivi intégral de troupeaux de bovins laitiers et a soutenu sa thèse universitaire sur ce sujet (1984). Après avoir passé une année au Centre de Santé Animale de Limbourg, (Pays Bas) avec pour mission la consultation des éleveurs avec de grands problèmes, et la supervision de l’Insémination Artificielle, il a été nommé professeur à Wageningen Université d’Agronomie, dans le domaine de la Santé des animaux d’élevage et la Gestion des élevages (santé animale, épidémiologie, parasitologie, adaptation physiologique, reproduction) de 1988 à 1998. Puis il a été nommé professeur à la Faculté Vétérinaire d’Utrecht pour une période de 10 ans, après quoi il est parti en préretraite. Il a été invité en professeur visitant à Gand (B), École Nationale Vétérinaire de Nantes (F), de Lyon (F) et finalement à l’Université Charles Sturt, (Australie). Il est actuellement consultant international dans son domaine.
