Gr?ce au micro-ordinateur, l'accès au texte (base textuelle) n'est plus séquentiel, l'utilisateur du livre électronique pouvant «sauter» en tout temps à la table des matières, à l'index, à la bibliographie ou aux renvois placés dans le texte comme, par exemple, «voir chapitre 2». En plus de ces possibilités de renvoi qui arrêtent la lecture séquentielle, l'usager peut demander à chaque instant l'exécution de méthodes (programmes informatiques) liées au sujet du livre. Le système se branche alors vers une série de modules écrits par l'auteur (concept de «banque de méthodes» et «banque de modèles») ou disponible sur la machine (MULTIPLAN, DBASE, LISP, etc.). Le passage du texte vers les méthodes se réalise avec ou sans la récupération de modèles. Ainsi, des exercices, des exemples guidés et des simulations sont à même d'enrichir le texte. EBOOK3 est composé de trois caractéristiques principales. Primo, le déplacement dans un texte se réalise soit séquentiellement, soit par le biais de références, de tables ou d'index. Secundo, des images statiques sont insérées dans le texte et un graphisme dynamique autorise la visualisation de séquences animées. Tertio, l'adjonction des méthodes apporte la puissance du traitement de données pour calculer les modèles de l'auteur, effectuer des analyses de sensibilité ou créer des problèmes propres aux besoins du lecteur.

Ecritures digitales aims to demonstrate how digital writing contributes to the emergence of “a new relationship between the human body and the machine” as Jacques Derrida proposed when he considered the effects of new technologies. This reconfigured relationship, not surprisingly, is also influencing the digital future of the Jewish-Christian textual corpus referred to as “the Scriptures”. The French title brings together this duality in one expression: Ecritures digitales. With a full French version and an abbreviated English version, this monograph analyzes the main challenges and opportunities for both writing and the Scriptures in the transition to digital culture.
