"Cette étude évalue le lien entre les problèmes de comportement en salle de classe et les caractéristiques du climat scolaire auprès d'une population d'élèves de 3e collège, agés en moyenne de 15 ans et 4 mois. Au courant des premières années scolaires, les enfants chez qui l'on observe des problèmes de comportement performent moins bien que leurs paris sans problèmes de comportement au niveau d'indicateurs académiques, sociaux et interpersonnels de l'adaptation scolaire (Caspi, Elder & Bern, 1987). Les difficultés d'adaptation chez ces enfants peuvent s'accumuler et s'aggraver au cours de leur croissance et ainsi les mettre à plus haut risque de décrochage scolaire, la criminalité et des problèmes d'adaptation à l'âge adulte (Baker, Grant & Morlock, 2008, Capsi et al., 1987). Capsi et ses collègues (1987) remarquent que l'adolescent présentant des problèmes de comportement se retrouve souvent dans un environnement inadapté qui renforce et perpétueson patron de comportements nuisibles." --Introduction.
