Le cycle de conférences Droit comparé et territorialité du droit étudie les interactions entre la démarche comparatiste et le pluralisme normatif contemporain. Le présent "tome 1" regroupe les six premières conférences du cycle, qui en a compté douze. La conférence inaugurale traite des défis et des enjeux de ce nouveau paradigme qui voit les frontières juridiques devenir floues et qui pose au juge des questions inédites au travers de situations présentant des éléments d'extranéité. La deuxième conférence analyse les objectifs, les méthodes et les usages du droit comparé, devenu aujourd'hui l'un des instruments dont le juge dispose pour nourrir sa réflexion et élaborer sa décision. La troisième conférence questionne la territorialité du droit dans un contexte de globalisation accrue où le droit national semble reculer sur son propre territoire devant des normes internationales toujours plus nombreuses et des justiciables qui peuvent choisir leur juge et leur loi en fonction de leurs intérêts. La quatrième conférence aborde l'usage que les cours de l'espace européen (CJUE, Cour EDH) font du droit comparé et la façon dont elles conçoivent l'application territoriale de leur jurisprudence. La cinquième conférence traite des figures de la mobilité et du statut des personnes entre territorialité et extraterritorialité, dans un contexte d'intensification de la circulation des individus. Enfin, la sixième conférence est consacrée aux nouveaux acteurs juridiques à l'heure de la mondialisation, à travers l'exemple, emblématique, du droit de l'environnement, particulièrement révélateur de cette remise en cause du lien traditionnel entre un droit et un territoire.
