De ce fait, la morphologie faciale est elle-même fortement influencée par les fonctions oro-faciales. Ainsi, les dysfonctionnements oro-faciales, les parafonctions et les habitudes novices sont susceptibles de créer, d’entretenir ou d’accentuer une dysmorphose. Leur recherche doit être systématiquement effectuée chez tous les patients se présentant en consultation d’orthopédie dento-faciale. Le bilan fonctionnel s’attachera à diagnostiquer les étiologies des troubles fonctionnels et à prendre en compte les déséquilibres musculaires. Cet examen doit être global cat l’environnement (scolaire, familial), les habitudes (sommeil, alimentation), le psychisme et la posture corporelle du patient sont autant de facteurs influents. Ce travail vise à analyser le bilan fonctionnel dans la consultation d’orthopédie dento-faciale. Puis, des cas cliniques seront étudiés et présentés à travers une fiche clinique qui synthétise les points importants de ce bilan.
