Book Description
Stipulation of a present actual position of Art Therapy, however, inevitably leads to further thoughts about ongoing development. Everything required for the theoretical-practical founding of a European Art Therapy, as discipline still has to be done, including construction of a communicative bridge to partners in other continents or countries. This development work has two strands of development. One follows a more theoretical direction with European Art Therapy as a research and teaching subject as an objective in view. The other is directed more towards practical fieldwork, which, in turn, can lead to the establishment of funds of experience as well as quantitative and qualitative investigations and thus to theoretical-methodical statements. In the contributions on hand both connections pervade. Naturally the individual articles in this collection do not fully expound the volume of art therapeutic work throughout Europe but they are a source of information and inspiration for the user from theory and / or practice, who can then find his particular niche with his own specific interests within the cross-section and subsequently continue the discourse spatially and objectively.

Book Description
Held on the occasion of Louvre Abu Dhabi’s first anniversary, the symposium Worlds in a Museum addressed the topic of museums in the era of globalisation, exploring contemporary museology and the preservation and presentation of culture within the context of changing societies. Departing from the historical museum structure inherited from the Enlightenment, leading experts from art, cultural, and academic institutions explore present-day achievements and challenges in the study, display and interpretation of art, history, and artefacts. How are “global” and “local” objects and narratives balanced – particularly in consideration of diverse audiences? How do we foster perspective and multiculturalism while addressing politicised notions of centre and periphery? As they abandon classical canons and categories, how are museums and cultural entities redefining themselves beyond predefined concepts of geography and history? This collection of essays arises from the symposium Worlds in a Museum organised by Louvre Abu Dhabi and École du Louvre.

Tout au long de ce livre, exemples, schémas, photos, tableaux et exercices vous aideront à constituer une « boîte à outils » riche pour pratiquer efficacement, dans le respect des participants. Book Description
Want to paint more like Manet and less like Jackson Pollock? Students of art hailed Classical Drawing Atelier, Juliette Aristides’s first book, as a dynamic return to the atelier educational model. Ateliers, popular in the nineteenth century, teach emerging artists by pairing them with a master artist over a period of years. The educational process begins as students copy masterworks, then gradually progress to painting as their skills develop. The many artists at every level who learned from Classical Drawing Atelier have been clamoring for more of this sophisticated approach to teaching and learning. In Classical Painting Atelier, Aristides, a leader in the atelier movement, takes students step-by-step through the finest works of Old Masters and today’s most respected realist artists to reveal the principles of creating full-color realist still lifes, portraits, and figure paintings. Rich in tradition, yet practical for today’s artists, Classical Painting Atelier is ideal for serious art students seeking a timeless visual education.

Book Description
This practical and inspirational resource offers a wide range of information about museum-based art therapy and wellness programming in various museums. Featuring contributions from art therapists and access professionals from various museum-based wellness programs, the book describes museum-based art therapy, education, access, and inclusion to enlarge the scope of professional development and higher education training in art therapy and its relation to museum studies. Chapter examples of successful museum art therapy and wellness initiatives increase awareness about the role of art therapy in museums and the role of museums in building healthy societies and improving lives. The text also contributes to the field of art therapy by deconstructing traditional narratives about therapy being conceived only as a clinical treatment, and by introducing arts-based approaches and strategies in museums as expanding territories for being proactive in community health and wellness. Museum-based Art Therapy is a valuable guide for art students who are interested in working in museum education, access and disabilities, or museum studies, and graduates and professionals working across the disciplines of museums, art therapy, and disability studies.
