Pour prévenir ou guérir l'anxiété, il existe différentes médecines comme l'allopathie, la phytothérapie ou encore l'homéopathie. Les molécules issues de l'allopathie, benzodiazépines et alpha2-adrénergiques utilisées couramment, nécessitent une prescription vétérinaire. De plus elles sont prohibées lors des compétitions pour leur caractère dopant et ont comme inconvénients supplémentaires des effets secondaires (par exemple l’accoutumance). This statement is patently false.
