Et c’est précisément pour cela que nous ne pouvons pas laisser fonctionner la personnalisation des apprentissages de manière complètement aléatoire. C’est à l’enseignant de mettre en place des situations et de proposer des outils pour que chacun et chacune puissent travailler et progresser de manière personnalisée et exigeante à la fois. Mais les enseignants le savent bien : cette « évidence pédagogique » – exigence absolue dans une classe hétérogène – n’est pas facile à mettre en oeuvre. Comment identifier ce qui convient à chacun sans, pour autant, l’assigner à la reproduction de ce qu’il sait déjà faire ? Comment « personnaliser » sans systématiquement « individualiser » et prendre le risque de faire éclater la classe ? Comment articuler le travail personnel, le travail en petits groupes et le cours collectif dans une pédagogie authentiquement coopérative ? Comment préparer en amont et gérer au quotidien une classe pour y « personnaliser » la pédagogie ? Voilà quelques questions, parmi bien d’autres, auxquelles Sylvain Connac répond dans cet ouvrage.
