Aprende a conocer las causas, mientras que si las ignora, va a tientas como un ciego por los efectos. Sólo a través del conocimiento del mundo suprasensible adquiere sentido la "realidad" sensible. Por lo tanto, este conocimiento aumenta, no disminuye, nuestra capacidad de vida. Sólo quien entiende la vida puede convertirse en un hombre verdaderamente "práctico".
