Ce travail a pour principal objectif d’évaluer la perception du risque de survenue de la grippe aviaire et d’une pandémie grippale par les médecins généralistes meusiens et d’apprécier le niveau d’utilisation des différents supports d’information sur le sujet. Nous avons voulu également tester la faisabilité d’une enquête en médecine générale réalisée à l’aide d’un questionnaire informatique consultable en ligne. Nous avons réalisé une enquête transversale auprès des 154 médecins généralistes meusiens. Plus de la moitié des médecins ont complété le questionnaire et 78% d’entre eux à l’aide du questionnaire en ligne. Le taux de participation générale était le même suivant le sexe, ou la classe d’age mais ce sont les médecins les plus jeunes et ceux exerçant seuls qui ont le plus participé à l’enquête sur Internet. La moitié des médecins estiment que le risque de survenue de la grippe aviaire est faible. Un tiers des médecins pensent que le risque est assez élevé. Près de la moitié des médecins estiment que celui de survenue d’une pandémie grippale est faible et un tiers assez élevé. La moitié des médecins ont consulté le Kit destiné aux professionnels de santé et 17% déclarent ne pas l’avoir reçu. La moitié d’entre eux a participé à une formation « grippe aviaire » dans le cadre d’une FMC et la moitié a recherché des informations spécifiques sur Internet.L’inquiétude des médecins grandirait s’il apparaissait une transmission interhumaine démontrée au niveau mondial pour 49% et en France pour 15% d’entre eux. Près de 20% des médecins n’ont pas souhaité recevoir d’informations. Ce manque d’implication apparent semble expliqué par des préoccupations quotidiennes plus concrètes qu’un hypothétique risque. Il apparaît également une absence de cohérence entre le Plan de lutte gouvernemental et l’exercice des médecins généralistes au niveau local. Cette enquête réalisée à l’aide d’un support électronique a donné toute satisfaction aux participants et aux enquêteurs. Cette méthodologie permet de gagner du temps, et réduit le coût de revient pour les échantillons de grande taille par rapport aux enquêtes postales. Cette méthode permet également de s’affranchir d’un grand nombre de réponses erronées ou manquantes. Par contre, l’utilisation mixte de mode de recueil de données est recommandée pour éviter un biais de sélection et garantir le meilleur taux de participation possible.
