Author: Junius P. Rodriguez
Publisher: Bloomsbury Publishing USA
ISBN: 1851097880
Category : Social Science
Languages : en
Pages : 885
Book Description
This work is the first encyclopedia on the labor practices that constitute modern-day slavery—and the individuals and organizations working today to eradicate them. Slavery in the Modern World: A History of Political, Social, and Economic Oppression helps bring to light an often-ignored tragedy, opening readers' eyes to the devastated lives of those coerced into unpaid labor. It is the first and only comprehensive encyclopedia on practices that persist despite the efforts of antislavery advocates, nongovernmental organizations, and national legislation aimed at ending them. Ranging from the late-19th century to the present, Slavery in the Modern World examines the full extent of unfree labor practices in use today, as well as contemporary abolitionists and antislavery groups fighting these practices and legislative action from various nations aimed at exposing and shutting down slave operations and networks. The 450 alphabetically organized entries are the work of over 125 of the world's leading experts on modern slavery.

Absolute Equality
Author: Luisa Capetillo
Publisher: Arte Publico Press
ISBN: 1611920140
Category : Social Science
Languages : en
Pages : 400
Book Description
In Luisa Capetillo's three-act play written in 1907, "Influences of Modern Ideas," Angelina, the daughter of a rich Puerto Rican businessman and landowner, educates herself by reading the works of European writers, philosophers, and anarchists. After reading Tolstoy's The Slavery of Our Times, she is convinced that "the slavery of our times is the inflexible wage law." As the workers go on strike in her home town of Arecibo, Angelina tries to convince her father to give his property--home, factories, land--to the working class. And so the stage is set for Capetillo, a militant feminist, anarchist, and labor leader, to inform the public about her passions: the fight for workers' rights; the struggle for justice and equality, for women as well as workers; and the education of all classes and sexes. The themes in this social protest play appear throughout Capetillo's writings. This volume combines long and short plays, fiction, essays, propaganda, letters, poems, philosophical reflections, and journal entries in a never-before-available English translation by Lara Walker. Also included is a facsimile of the original Spanish-language text, Influencias de las ideas modernas, which was first published in San Juan, Puerto Rico, in 1916. Most of the pieces in this collection were written between 1912 and 1916 while Capetillo was living and working as a labor leader in Tampa and Ybor City, Florida; New York City; and Havana, Cuba. Editor Lara Walker's comprehensive introduction surveys Luisa Capetillo's life and work, placing her ideologies in the appropriate social and historical context. At once a sharp critique and a celebration of the gathering fervor of world politics, Capetillo's workexamines both her native Puerto Rico and the world outside, providing a sense of the workers' movement and the condition of women at the turn of the century. Capetillo embraces the humanistic thinking of the early twentieth century and envisions a world in which economic and social structures can be broken down, allowing both the worker and the women to be free.

In what follows, there are some discussion and literature reviews about them. \\ First article is titled ``properties of SuperHyperGraph and neutrosophic SuperHyperGraph'' in \textbf{Ref.} \cite{HG1} by Henry Garrett (2022). It's first step toward the research on neutrosophic SuperHyperGraphs. This research article is published on the journal ``Neutrosophic Sets and Systems'' in issue 49 and the pages 531-561. In this research article, different types of notions like dominating, resolving, coloring, Eulerian(Hamiltonian) neutrosophic path, n-Eulerian(Hamiltonian) neutrosophic path, zero forcing number, zero forcing neutrosophic- number, independent number, independent neutrosophic-number, clique number, clique neutrosophic-number, matching number, matching neutrosophic-number, girth, neutrosophic girth, 1-zero-forcing number, 1-zero- forcing neutrosophic-number, failed 1-zero-forcing number, failed 1-zero-forcing neutrosophic-number, global- offensive alliance, t-offensive alliance, t-defensive alliance, t-powerful alliance, and global-powerful alliance are defined in SuperHyperGraph and neutrosophic SuperHyperGraph. Some Classes of SuperHyperGraph and Neutrosophic SuperHyperGraph are cases of research. Some results are applied in family of SuperHyperGraph and neutrosophic SuperHyperGraph. Thus this research article has concentrated on the vast notions and introducing the majority of notions. \\ The seminal paper and groundbreaking article is titled ``neutrosophic co-degree and neutrosophic degree alongside chromatic numbers in the setting of some classes related to neutrosophic hypergraphs'' in \textbf{Ref.} \cite{HG2} by Henry Garrett (2022). In this research article, a novel approach is implemented on SuperHyperGraph and neutrosophic SuperHyperGraph based on general forms without using neutrosophic classes of neutrosophic SuperHyperGraph. It's published in prestigious and fancy journal is entitled “Journal of Current Trends in Computer Science Research (JCTCSR)” with abbreviation ``J Curr Trends Comp Sci Res'' in volume 1 and issue 1 with pages 06-14. The research article studies deeply with choosing neutrosophic hypergraphs instead of neutrosophic SuperHyperGraph. It's the breakthrough toward independent results based on initial background. \\ The seminal paper and groundbreaking article is titled ``Super Hyper Dominating and Super Hyper Resolving on Neutrosophic Super Hyper Graphs and Their Directions in Game Theory and Neutrosophic Super Hyper Classes'' in \textbf{Ref.} \cite{HG3} by Henry Garrett (2022). Addressing Inequality from a Human Rights Perspective
Author: Belique, Ana María
Publisher: Djusticia
ISBN: 9585441918
Category : Political Science
Languages : en
Pages : 285
Book Description
This book points to an emerging set of ideas and practices being developed by activists, scholars, and courts from a range of countries that reveals the potential of human rights to resolve other radical injustices and to build more robust civil society movements against inequality and deregulation. Numerous countries around the globe are witnessing a similar experience in their modern political contexts: democratic tools and human rights instruments—which have facilitated undeniable improvements in the lives of millions—are proving largely insufficient for preventing extreme forms of exclusion. In other words, while human rights have played a fundamental role in highlighting inequalities based on factors such as gender and ethnic and racial identity, they have coexisted alongside persistent socioeconomic injustices and the rise of authoritarian populist governments that are jeopardizing human rights institutions and principles worldwide. Against this panorama, some are arguing that the human rights movement is incapable of warding off social injustice, while others are calling for a separation of the human rights and social movements. This book offers a third way: it points to an emerging set of ideas and practices being developed by activists, scholars, and courts from a range of countries that reveals the potential of human rights to resolve other radical injustices and to build more robust civil society movements against inequality and deregulation. ¿QUOD EST, SUMMUS? ¿EN QUE QUEDAMOS, SUPREMO?
Author: VIII QUORUM VIII
Publisher: Xlibris Corporation
ISBN: 1499058438
Category : Law
Languages : en
Pages : 298
Book Description

Author: Jannery A. Lara
Publisher: Fulton Books, Inc.
ISBN: 1646545036
Category : Business & Economics
Languages : en
Pages : 204
Book Description
