Book Description
This book aims to reflect the contours of the notion of aid as it is questioned by current scientific research. This notion appears as fuzzy in its scope of intervention, in its methods of multidisciplinary and multi-referential approaches in theoretical frameworks convened. Present in different areas that we propose to investigate in the book (training and teaching at university, inclusion in education, but also prevention, the fight against failure in orientation), the notion of help questions research in SHS and Computer Science. It comes in different formats labeled "help" but also "support", "support" or "guidance". In order to take stock of these notions and to question their differences, we convoke several authors (French and foreign) who participate by their research (-action) underlining components and environmental factors of the device that give this notion any its thickness.

Book Description
Different communities, speaking different languages, employ different naming systems to describe the events, actions, and interactions of the mathematics classroom. The International Classroom Lexicon Project documented the professional vocabulary available to middle-school mathematics teachers in Australia, Chile, China, the Czech Republic, Finland, France, Germany, Japan, Korea, and the United States. National teams of researchers and experienced teachers used a common set of classroom videos to stimulate recognition of familiar terms describing aspects of the mathematics classroom. This book details the existing professional vocabulary in each international community by which mathematics teachers conceptualise their practice, and explores the characteristics, structures, and distinctive features of each national lexicon. This book has the potential to enrich the professional vocabulary of mathematics teachers around the world by providing access to sophisticated classroom practices named by teachers in different countries. This one volume offers separate, individual lexicons developed from empirical research, the capacity to juxtapose such lexicons, and an unmatched opportunity to highlight the cultural, historical, and linguistic bases of teachers' professional language.

Book Description
Food Information, Communication and Education analyses the role of different media in producing and transforming knowledge about food. 'Eating knowledge', or knowledge about food and food practice, is a central theme of cooking classes, the daily press, school textbooks, social media, popular magazines and other media. In addition, a wide variety of actors have taken on the responsibility of informing and educating the public about food, including food producers, advertising agencies, celebrity chefs, teachers, food bloggers and government institutions. Featuring a range of European case studies, this interdisciplinary collection advances our understanding of the processes of mediatization, circulation and reception of knowledge relating to food within specific social environments. Topics covered include: popularized knowledge about food carried over from past to present; the construction of trustworthy knowledge in today's food risk society; critical assessment of nutrition education initiatives for children; and political and ideological implications of food information policy and practice.

Book Description
Initially, the flipped classroom was described as "lectures at home and homework in class": technology was used to transfer the mainly theory-based part of a course out of the classroom to free up more time during the lesson to focus on applications, problems, case studies or projects. However, the concept was very quickly broadened by extending the range of non-classroom activities. Should we just expect students to passively watch videos suggested by the teacher? Or should be we asking them, individually or in groups, to prepare part of the course for the other students before class? Of course, we want a method that is coherent, particularly in terms of time and space; it requires an important adjustment of the knowledge and skills targeted, the resources allocated to out-of-class activities and the learning activities and interactions inside and outside the classroom. But how do you create the teaching aids and design the pre-class preparatory activities? How can you make the space/time encounter between students and with the teacher more active and meaningful? How can you use the flipped classroom concept to really add value in terms of quality of learning and sustainable skills? Lastly, how do you assess how the students are using these skills? This short guide aims to answer some of the questions you may have about the flipped classroom and help you embrace the truly ground-breaking opportunities of this teaching method of the future.
