This reports that the Alaska Department of Fish and Game will manage the commercial salmon fisheries in the Kodiak Management Area (KMA) to promote maximum production opportunities for future KMA salmon returns by achieving salmon escapement goals and providing opportunity to harvest salmon in excess of those goals. In addition, the Department will attempt to provide for orderly fisheries while maximizing harvest opportunities on the highest quality salmon, and will adhere to the biological and allocative requirements of the management plans adopted by the Alaska Board of Fisheries for the KMA.
