Excerpt from Kennedy Family Records It is believed that all the foregoing Kennedy families are related either by virtue of being descendants of common ancestors, or by intermarriage. The Kennedys have been in America since the early 17th Century and it is estimated that there are now more than Kennedys in the United States. See Chapter (l). Many of the American Kennedys are descendants of Robert and William (brothers), who came from Ireland to Bucks County, Pennsylvania, 1730. Book Description
Unlike so many other books, Grace and Power rejects gossip and conspiracy theory to tell the story of John and Jackie’s three years in the White House soberly, comprehensively and sensitively, from beginning to sudden end. Sally Bedell Smith’s book on John and Jackie Kennedy was hailed by authoritative reviewers on both sides of the Atlantic as the most distinguished and well-written book on a perennially fascinating subject for years. In the US the hardback was high on the New York Times bestseller list for weeks. It is an immensely poignant chronicle of pivotal historical events seen from the inside out, from within the private home of the President and First Lady. Amidst the superficial opulence of their social circle, we see the Cuban Missile Crisis and the burgeoning American civil rights movement from the perspective of an invalid president often barely well enough to appear in public. Together with his young wife, abandoned by her husband’s relentless womanising, nevertheless changed the politics and style of America. Grace and Power is the classic account of that time.

Book Description
Joseph P. Kennedy’s reputation as a savvy businessman, diplomat, and sly political patriarch is well-documented. But his years as a Hollywood mogul have never been fully explored until now. In Joseph P. Kennedy Presents, Cari Beauchamp brilliantly explores this unknown chapter in Kennedy’s biography. Between 1926 and 1930, Kennedy positioned himself as a major Hollywood player. In two short years, he was running three studios simultaneously and then, in a bold move, he merged his studios with David Sarnoff to form the legendary RKO Studio. Beauchamp also tells the story of Kennedy’s affair with Gloria Swanson; how he masterminded the mergers that created the blueprint for contemporary Hollywood; and made the fortune that became the foundation of his empire.

Book Description
Death was merciful to Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, for it spared her a parent's worst nightmare: the loss of a child. But if Jackie had lived to see her son, JFK Jr., perish in a plane crash on his way to his cousin's wedding, she would have been doubly horrified by the familiar pattern in the tragedy. Once again, on a day that should have been full of joy and celebration, America's first family was struck by the Kennedy Curse. In this probing expose, renowned Kennedy biographer Edward Klein--a bestselling author and journalist personally acquainted with many members of the Kennedy family--unravels one of the great mysteries of our time and explains why the Kennedys have been subjected to such a mind-boggling chain of calamities. Drawing upon scores of interviews with people who have never spoken out before, troves of private documents, archives in Ireland and America, and private conversations with Jackie, Klein explores the underlying pattern that governs the Kennedy Curse. The reader is treated to penetrating portraits of the Irish immigrant Patrick Kennedy; Rose Kennedy's father, "Honey Fitz"; the dynasty's founding father Joe Kennedy and his ill-fated daughter Kathleen, President Kennedy, accused rapist William Kennedy Smith, and the star-crossed lovers, JFK Jr. and Carolyn Bessette. Each of the seven profiles demonstrates the basic premise of this book: The Kennedy Curse is the result of the destructive collision between the Kennedy's fantasy of omnipotence-an unremitting desire to get away with things that others cannot-and the cold, hard realities of life.

Containing numerous photographs and graphics, this easy to read account of my family is of interest to the hundreds of Charles and Mary (Gillen) Kennedy descendants populating America and the globe as well as those interested in American history. The book begins with Kennedy Kings and castles in Ireland and continues with Charles and Mary in Philadelphia and then west to Cambria County, Pennsylvania with Catholic Russian Prince, Father Augustine Gallitzin. Oral accounts describe the 1862 Sioux massacre on their community in the Minnesota Territory. This ultimately drove them to Osage Mission, Kansas where my grandparents Lawrence and Elizabeth (Fager) Kennedy raised my mother Helen (Kennedy) Rush and their other 15 children through the depression and the dust bowl in Neosho County, Kansas.

Book Description
"A FRESH AND UNVARNISHED PORTRAIT OF A FASCINATING, TALENTED AND DEEPLY FLAWED FAMILY." --Boston Herald Laurence Leamer was granted unheralded access to private Kennedy papers, and he interviewed family and old friends, many of whom have never been interviewed before, for this incredible portrait of the women in America's "royal family." From Bridget Murphy, the foremother who touched shore at East Boston in 1849, to the intelligent, independent Kennedy women of today, Laurence Leamer now tells their stories. Here are the private thoughts of Kathleen, the flirtatious debutante in prewar England...the truth behind Joe Kennedy's insistence that his mildly retarded daughter, Rosemary, be lobotomized...the real story behind Joan and Ted's whirlwind romance...Jackie's desire for a divorce from JFK in the 1950s...Pat Lawford's disastrous Hollywood marriage...how Caroline discovered her cousin David's death by overdose, and more. Tough enough to withstand the unimaginable, these Kennedy women soldier on, in the name of their extraordinary family and what they believe is right. "MASTERFUL...AN ENDLESSLY FASCINATING READ...A wealth of beautifully rendered social detail, at times reading like a realist novel by Edith Wharton...[A] page-turner from start to finish." --The Dallas Morning News
