Although few nineteenth-century rural Canadian women could read and write well, Sarah Jameson Craig (1840-1919) was not only literate but eloquent. Unlike many women writers of her time, Craig lived at the bottom of the economic ladder. Nevertheless, she dared to dream the utopian dreams more commonly associated with educated women from the middle and upper classes. Craig vividly documented her attempt to run away at age fifteen, her plans to found a utopian colony based on alternative medicine and women’s dress reform, and her lifelong crusade for women's equality. Quoting liberally from Sarah Craig's unpublished diaries and memoir, Seeking Our Eden sets Craig's life writing within the context of her early days in New Brunswick, her later migrations to New Jersey and then westward to Saskatchewan and British Columbia, and the American-based reform and utopian movements that stirred her imagination. This book is about the great danger America is facing and we the people, are totally ignorant as to how or why. America has become a Godless society. Our religious hostility toward God and traditional religion is so prevalent that even Satan must feel embarrassed. We have become a demonic monster to the world as they see our hypocrisy in action. Our leaders speak with a hollow voice. We elect leaders where character, morals, and ethical values mean nothing. As God gives us over to a reprobate mind (Romans 1: 28) we see that we fully qualify in all of the wickedness mentioned in Romans 1: 18-32. We have now as a nation surpassed wickedness in Noah’s day and Sodom and Gomorrah. A very small portion of “Born Again” Christians is the only “GLUE” that is holding America together. God refused to let me say no, I do not want to write a book of any kind. I am an eighty two year old man who has gone through life with a severe hearing loss totally unprepared in the literary challenge of book writing. All I can say to the reader is, “Here it is straight from God’s Holy Spirit, take it or leave it.
