Book Description
The material world is made of atoms, and the majority of chemical elements has two or more stable isotopes. The existence of isotopes and their applications are well known. Yet, there is little appreciation of isotopic diversity as a singular phenomenon of nature. This book discusses aspects of isotopic diversity in terms of a singular principle: "isotopicity".

Book Description
"Digital Informatics and Isotopic Biology discusses self-organization and the emergence of order at the atomic scale with a particular emphasis on the digital information that can be carried by proper ordering of stable isotopes. This ushers in the concept of isotopic biology as a complimentary level to the "common" biology. The book discusses the area of isotopic randomness (isotopicity) and numerous implications of it for physics, biology, biomedicine, informatics, and other areas of science. It offers a unique and original view and may be the first milestone of this novel emerging area. The character of the book is highly interdisciplinary with numerous philosophical and historical discourses and comments."--Prové de l'editor.

Book Description
The idea of editing this book was born in the winter of 1988/1989. Christian Endler was organizing the workshop 'Wasser und Information' (water and information) in Austria [1], and Jürgen Schulte was working on a publication of his results on atomic cluster stabilities and long-range electromagnetic interaction in atomic clusters. It was Franz Moser from the Technical University of Graz who brought these two together. After a talk that Moser had given in Bremen, Schulte explained to hirn his ideas about clusters and long range interaction, and his concern about reliable theories and experiments in research on ultra high dilutions (UHD) and homoeopathy. He was suggested to be a speaker at the Austrian workshop. Reviewing the contributions of this workshop and the current literature on UHD and homoeopathy, especially the PhD thesis by Giesela King [2] and the excellent survey by Marco Righetti [3], we decided to work on a book in order to critically encou rage more scientists to work and publish in this field with a high scientific standard. What we had in mind was a useful contribution to the goal to lift research on UHD and homoeo pathy to an internationally acceptable scientific standard, to encourage international scien tists to work in this area and to establish UHD and homoeopathy in academic science. Delayed by our individual academic careers in our specific fields, and delayed by lack of funds it took us about four years to finish this book.

Book Description
The world we live in is made of atoms and most atoms have 2 or more stable isotopes. This book discusses the isotopic diversity of chemical elements under the unifying idea of "isotopicity." That allows to describe in a singular way a broad range of effects of isotopic randomness in the physics and chemistry of solid and liquid systems, material science, nano-technology and engineering ("isotopic engineering"), biology, informatics, quantum computing, etc. The book can be equally read by professionals (scientists, academics, students, engineers) as well as by a broad segment of the lay public

Book Description
A geometric figure has chirality, or handedness, if its mirror image cannot be brought to coincide with itself. The concept of chirality was instrumental in establishing the tetrahedral valences of the carbon atom, and has continued to play a key role in chemistry and molecular biology ever since. The fact that living organisms use only one of two mirror isomers of such molecules as amino acids and sugars, that is, the question of the origin of homochirality of the molecular basis of life, remains an unsolved problem of the same dignity as the origin of dark matter and dark energy. The increasing importance of chirality and topology in condensed matter physics and chemistry, and the production of new states of matter in heavy-ion collisions, have brought the concept of chirality into physics and cosmology in a tangible way while at the same time expanded the physics/chemistry interface. The book is the first to address all aspects of chirality in a single volume.
