Les effluents industriels contenant des métaux lourds " ML " sont à l'origine d'une part importante de la pollution de l'environnement. Face à la gravité de ce problème, les réglementations concernant la teneur de ces métaux dans les rejets industriels deviennent de plus en plus strictes. Les méthodes actuelles de traitement des effluents sont limitées par des contraintes techniques et économiques. Pour ces raisons il est nécessaire de développer de nouveaux procédés, bons marchés et efficaces, pour la décontamination de ces rejets industriels.Ce travail doit permettre de tester l'efficacité de résidus lignocellulosiques, issus du son de blé, traités de différentes manières afin de fixer des ions de métaux lourds " IML ". De plus nous étudions l'influence de divers paramètres comme le pH, la concentration initiale, la force ionique, etc, sur la capacité de rétention des ions métalliques par ces résidus.Après cette étude, nous avons utilisé un modèle théorique afin d'établir une description quantitative du système. L'approche de Donnan et le modèle de NICA ont permis d'obtenir une modélisation cohérente avec les données expérimentales en introduisant un minimum de paramètres ajustables. La simulation, à l'aide du code de calcul FIT, des courbes de titrages potentiométriques de la suspension de résidu végétal a conduit aux constantes d'acidité de surface. Les données de la rétention du Cu, Pb et Cd ont alors été modélisées à partir des isothermes de sorption en respectant les contraintes tirées de l'étude expérimentale.Enfin, les complexes de surface formés ont été analysés par spectroscopies d'Absorption de Rayons X (SAX) et de pertes d'Energies (EELS). Un nombre moyen d'atomes autour du métal ainsi que la distance métal-atome d'oxygène ont été déterminés pour les complexes du cuivre et du plomb par SAX. La microscopie couplée à l'EELS a permis d'estimer la quantité de cuivre sur le solide mais aussi de différencier la lignine de la cellulose.Des expériences de rétention de cations métalliques ont été menées à l'échelle du laboratoire et à une échelle semi-pilote à la fois sur des solutions tests et sur des effluents industriels réels. Dans ce cadre, nous avons utilisé deux type de procédés : en batch et sur colonne. Les résultats se sont révélés concluants puisque nous avons pu enregistrer un taux important d'élimination du cuivre, du zinc et du nickel notamment.
