The hope is that future generations will contribute to society by becoming model citizens who uphold high moral standards. Similar goals have been pursued by approaches that emphasize morality, character development, and theory-based instruction. The goal of this kind of education is to help students become contributing members of society who are also compassionate, fair, and courageous.
