Book Description
The book has common challenges that most single and married families experience as a member of the armed forces. It has numerous stories of problems, hope, friendships, joys, changes, and military moves from one assignment to the next. There is humor throughout the book, as being single and then married with children. There is reflection on the pride of being a member of the United States Air Force and working with others in a team effort. There is the fear felt by parents when their sons and daughters enter the military and the worry of whether their assignments will be to friendly or hostile situations. Emphasis is placed on the many friendships possible in the communities around the military installations. Emphasis is also placed on worship and being a part of the air base, army post, or naval station chapel program, being members of local churches, for families starting up new congregations and bible studies. In overseas areas, it can be a lifetime experience making friends with local people such as our family with French, German and Filipinos and American missionaries in those areas. The thrust of the book is to reach the hands of service men and women and their families and also churches and clubs who want to support their military away from home. The ninth chapter deals with my coming retirement and the struggle to move it to another career field, or in my case the preaching ministry.

Book Description
In this refreshingly candid look at what it takes to live a life of faith, John Ortberg takes an honest look at the misgivings and uncertainties that often shake our beliefs as we navigate through the highs and lows of life. Reflecting on his own bouts with doubt and uncertainty, Ortberg shares with readers his discovery that, rather than being a contradiction in terms, doubt and faith may be very much a part of each other. He challenges readers to consider how doubt can motivate us to study and learn, how questioning expands our understanding, and how uncertainty can lead to trust. These challenges point us toward the relief of being totally honest. The right kind of doubt can be a gift—an action-generating truth that actually allows us to deepen our faith and intimacy with God. Written to challenge, comfort, and inspire readers, Know Doubt reveals uncertainty as a cause for celebration.

Book Description
Advertised as "a new standard for living," the Lustron Home was introduced in 1948 in response to the urgent need for housing for veterans returning from World War II and their rapidly growing families. These enameled steel, prefabricated houses became very popular, and were heavily promoted from 1948 to 1950. Approximately 2,500 went up all over the United States and even South America. This work chronicles the history of the Lustron Corporation--how it got started and why it failed. The architectural differences between the six basic models of the Lustron Home, and how they could be built in as little as two days, are fully described. Also included is a listing that documents the location, model, color and various other particulars of the roughly 2,500 houses completed.
