Analyzes the absorbtive capacity of human capital for foreign direct investment technology spillovers using threshold regression. Shows that while most developed countries exceed the sign-change threshold of 10,99 per cent, other developing countries (incl. China) are below that threshod. Finds interregional technology transfer between advanced and backwarded regions. Reveals that economic growth in the past was capital-driven, but is becoming more technology-driven.
