La moneda macuquina circul? libremente en Puerto Rico desde 1813 hasta el a?o 1857 cuando fue canjeada por moneda de cu?o nacional espa?ol. La moneda macuquina fue introducida en Puerto Rico desde Venezuela por inmigrantes que hu?an de las guerras revolucionarias.
