Pharmacogenomics is one of the emerging approaches to precision medicine, tailoring drug selection and dosing to the patient’s genetic features. Pharmacogenomics may be one of the most important current discoveries in medicine and is the study of the role of the genome in drug response. The name reflects its combining of pharmacology and genomics. Pharmacogenomics analyzes how the genetic makeup of an individual affects their response to drugs.
