This book covers a range of topics that are of increasing importance in engineering practice: natural hazards, pollution, and environmental protection through good practice. The first half of the book deals with natural risk factors, of both natural and human origin, that should be considered: subsidence, accidental infiltration, soil instability, rockslides and mudslides, debris flow, and degradation of buildings and monuments due to pollution and climactic effects, for example. These problems are highlighted and it is shown that a combination of sophisticated numerical techniques and extensive experimental investigations are necessary in order to effectively tackle these problems. Les micropolluants organiques susceptibles de contaminer les sols des friches industrielles decrivent une grande variete de molecules. Il est necessaire de developper une strategie analytique globale permettant d'evaluer la contamination de ces matrices complexes. La conception d'une methode de balayage par spectrometrie de masse des principaux polluants organiques est entreprise. Au cours de ce travail, les principales methodes relatives a l'extraction des composes organiques dans les matrices solides, ont ete confrontees. Apres avoir expose les bases theoriques des nouvelles techniques rencontrees, l'amelioration de l'efficacite des micro-ondes par l'utilisation d'un melange extractant homogene a ete examinee. D'autre part, l'etude de la methode d'extraction subcritique par solvant (ess) a montre que le transfert de masse au niveau des pores peut etre un facteur limitant dans le processus d'extraction. Suite a cette partie, l'ess est retenue et integree a l'outil analytique. La description de la methode de balayage ainsi que l'etude des parametres d'acquisition ont ete abordees. La qualite de l'analyse est assuree par le controle pousse de l'algorithme d'identification des signaux chromatographiques. La definition d'un facteur d'estimation permet d'evaluer individuellement la teneur des composes presents. Cette approche quantitative est basee sur l'emploi de composes deuteres. Les limites d'identification permettent de repondre aux seuils de concentration retenus lors d'une caracterisation de contamination. Pour determiner les limitations de la methode de balayage et fixer les conditions experimentales de l'ess, la technique d'optimisation du simplex a ete appliquee ainsi qu'un coefficient d'optimisation. Par sa rapidite et sa souplesse d'utilisation, elle s'est averee particulierement adaptee aux caracteristiques de notre etude. La methode de balayage par spectrometrie de masse que nous proposons, represente un outil offrant un fort potentiel d'informations.
