Book Description
My name is Danny Moloney, Your Guide & Tour Host. I was born in Eccles and have been a lifelong resident, I am enthusiastic about the area I was born, bred, live and work in. The concept of the 'Greater Eccles - A Place in History - Transport Tour' came after discussions with AirBnB who have recently developed their 'Experiences Program' which builds upon their highly successful global 'Stay Program'. AirBnB promote their experiences as 'Unique activities we can do together, led by a world of hosts'. Picking up the theme created by AirBnB, we thought that the unique Transport History of Greater Eccles deserved greater global and historical awareness with both transport and history fans; so we created a tour specifically targeted at our unique rail, tram, canal, road, port and air travel story. We have built our story around the focal 'sites' of the transport history of Greater Eccles namely; 1) Eccles Railway Station, 2) Liverpool to Manchester Railway, 3) M602 Motorway, 4) Eccles Metro Terminus, 5) A57, 6) Manchester Ship Canal, 7) Barton Swing Bridge Road, 8) Barton Swing Bridge Canal, 9) Bridgewater Canal, 10) Patricroft Railway Station, 11) The Queens Arms, 12) Barton Aerodrome, 13) Port Salford and 14) Runway 26.Interweaved are the stories of the TEN 'geographies' of Greater Eccles namely Cadishead, Irlam, Peel Green, Patricroft, Winton, Worsley, Monton, Ellesmere Park, Eccles and Barton. The Tour will take place regularly as a walking tour around the sites and some of the geographies of Greater Eccles 'much' of the content of the tour is contained in this book. We look forward to adding the stories, anecdotes, commentaries, and insights from both our book and our tour audiences; as the story itself unfolds and develops over time. I look for to welcoming you to the 'Greater Eccles - A Place in History - Transport Tour', Danny

Book Description
This first-of-its-kind travel guide explores inclusive destinations around the world where LGBTQIA travelers and their allies can have an uncensored and memorable vacation experience. Full of fun and practical travel information, this comprehensive guidebook takes you from familiar destinations like Ojai, California, long known for its inclusivity, to surprising spots like Eureka Springs, Arkansas, a small town that has been welcoming to the LGBTQIA+ community for decades. With an eye toward memorable and meaningful experiences, each destination highlights what to see, where to eat, and where to stay—without focusing solely on gay bars and pride parades. Each robust itinerary—a guide to Curaçao’s beaches, Christmas in the Cotswolds, or a kitschy trip to Dollywood—provides all the information needed for a well-rounded vacation that also supports local LGBTQIA communities. With personality-focused chapters such as “Romantic Rendezvous,” “Boozy Trips and Trails,” and “Fun Haunts and Spooky Spirits” there is a destination in these pages for every type of traveler. Veteran travel writers Amy B. Scher and Mark Jason Williams offer can’t-be-ignored advice, including how to plan, ways to be safe while traveling, and important customs to honor while touring abroad. Here, at last, is the LGBTQIA guidebook you’ve been waiting for—and one that will inspire you to make that bucket list and go out in the world!
