Book Description
We live in an age in which economic, ecological, and political crises are not the exception, but the rule. The Cold War polarities that shaped an earlier “political exegesis” have been replaced; increasingly, crisis is the engine of a global “turbo-capitalism.” Here, biblical scholars and activists describe and exemplify the shape of a biblical interpretation that takes contemporary crisis seriously. Succinct opening essays summarize the salient aspects of our critical situation; in later parts, contributions address themes of economic, political, and environmental crisis in dialogue with biblical texts.

Book Description
In the words of Saint Augustine, the Bible is long, complicated, and difficult to read. Orange Proverbs & Purple Parables is a book about reading the Bible. How does one become a more spiritually discerning and critically appreciative reader of the Holy Scriptures? What does it take to become a better interpreter of biblical texts? This book explores wide-ranging approaches and considerations germane to the enterprise of reading. The catch phrase used throughout the book is that of reading the Holy Scriptures as scripture. What goes into reading the Bible as scripture? What are some of the major elements inherent in this endeavor that should be of concern to the one who aspires to become a deep, thoughtful reader and an effective interpreter? This book weaves through a labyrinth of characters and disciplines as it explores this enterprise of reading the Holy Scriptures. The likes of Chomsky, Augustine, neuroscience, Barth, linguistics, theological interpretation, Origen, metaphor theory, devotional reading, and Jerome, along with many more people and fields of inquiry, are all garnered to encourage the reader in an exploration of the enterprise of reading the Holy Scriptures.

Book Description
The godfather of the global mafia (Rockefeller) indicated that he and other globalists are relying on "the right major crisis and the nations will accept the New World Order." Moreover, the renowned globalist and Obama's advisor Strobe Talbott said, "In the next century (21st), nations as we know it will be obsolete; all states will recognize a single, global authority. National sovereignty wasn't such a great idea after all." And James Paul Warburg said, "We shall have World Government, whether or not we like it. The only question is whether World Government will be achieved by consent or conquest." Who are America's true enemies? How are they operating inside America? How are they plotting to destroy America's democracy and sovereignty? Robert F. Kennedy Jr., on April 1, 2024, told CNN, "I can make the argument that President Biden is a much worse threat to democracy" (than Trump). Again, Robert, on April 2, 2024, told Fox News, "President Biden has done something no other president has done, which is to order media, particularly social media, Facebook, Instagram, to censor his political opponent. President Biden is a much worse threat to democracy, and the reason for that is President Biden is the first candidate in history, the first president in history that has used the federal agencies to censor political speech, to censor his opponent." And he added that Biden is "a genuine threat to our democracy." Keep in mind that Robert K. is a liberal Democrat. Former president Barack Obama and his wife "Michael" are using their Netflix Predictive Programming movie "Leave the World Behind" to reveal how he and the global gang intend to put the US government under a global dictatorship. Their ploy includes "A simple three-stage maneuver that could topple a country's government from within." That "country's government" is no other, but the US government which will be the real "target" for "a coup d'etat" and civil war. The first maneuver to destroy America is "Isolation." By that, they mean disabling the sectors of "communication and transportation...making the target as deaf, dumb and paralyzed as possible." The second maneuver consists of creating a "synchronized chaos...to terrorize" the American people "with covert attacks and misinformation, overwhelming their defense capabilities, and leaving their weapon system vulnerable to extremists and their own military. Without a clear enemy or motive, people would start turning on each other. If done successfully, the third stage would happen on its own." The Obama Netflix civil war movie describes the globalists' plot to create "the right major crisis" that they have envisioned to establish a global government. The plot seems to include "widespread use of state terrorism" to attack America from within with tens of thousands of radical Muslim terrorists that are already in America. The goal is to topple the US government, declare martial law, change the Constitution, and put the country under a global tyranny. I am using this book to show that Obama and Biden have been working in league with the evil global mafia to cement America's transition from democracy to dictatorship. Also, this book shows the globalists' plot for world government; and the man with the call and vision to lead it: Barack H. Obama--the biblical Antichrist and awaited Mahdi of Islam. Therefore, Americans have a critical choice to make: choose Obama's radicalized democrat gang and you will destroy America's democracy and sovereignty. Choose Donald Trump and you will empower the man called to defeat the enemies of humanity and tyranny. Trump is the man destined to vindicate God's name and restore America to its rightful place--before God takes His people in the rapture.

The Bible is not a system of theological propositions but a series of witnesses to God's redemptive acts in response to need. Recurring motifs, such as the exodus, covenant or messianic king have emerged in response to need and been adapted in different situations of need. This process culminates in the Christ-event.

Book Description
Economic justice is the core of the biblical tradition. In this innovative volume, Horsley takes the reader deep in examining how Jesus’ economic project was shaped in opposition to the Roman imperial order and how Paul’s development of communities around the Mediterranean was part of creating an alternative society among those subject to Rome. This analysis sets in the foreground the fundamental issues of food security, access to resources, and liberation. These movements emerged in opposition to Roman violence, political oppression, and economic extraction. This ultimately leads the author to consider how these issues are more relevant than ever in confronting the most recent form of empire in global capitalism. While we are not living in a Roman imperial world, we must strategize to confront the ways in which the new empire uses violence, oppression, and extraction to the detriment of the vast majority in the world, but especially those who are most vulnerable.

Book Description
In the last century, amazingly, world Christianity's center of gravity has effectively moved from Europe to a point near Timbuktu in Africa. Never in the history of Christianity has there been such a rapid and dramatic shift in where Christians are located in the world. Wesley Granberg-Michaelson explores the consequences of this shift for congregations in North America, specifically for the efforts to build Christian unity in the face of new and challenging divisions. Centers of religious power, money, and theological capital remain entrenched in the global, secularized North while the Christian majority thrives and rapidly grows in the global South. World Christianity's most decisive twenty-first-century challenge, Granberg-Michaelson argues, is to build meaningful bridges between faithful churches in the global North and the spiritually exuberant churches of the global South. Book Description
Today our multi-cultural society forces Christians to be aware of those with other, equally strong religious convictions. In this challenging and popular book, Martin Goldsmith answers all the hard questions facing Christians in this area, drawing on both biblical material and his own expertise as someone with wide cross-cultural experience. A brief explanation of other religions' concept of God, revelation and salvation is included, and the question of whether it is right to evangelise those of other faiths is tackled, along with a look at practical methods that can be used. A brand new chapter asks 'Why is Jesus so special?' when each of the world religions have central figure to worship.

Book Description
One of the most persistent slogans of Reformed theology is that it is "reformed and always being reformed." But what does this slogan mean? This volume gathers thirteen essays written by a younger generation of Reformed theologians who teach and write on five different continents, who together offer this work in Christian systematic theology. Unlike many other works of Reformed theology, however, this book is framed by pressing contextual issues and questions (instead of traditional loci). Each chapter engages classical doctrine, but does so through the lens of contemporary, lived experience in particular contexts. The result is not a theology where doctrines are "applied" to contexts, but an approach where doctrine and context mutually shape one another. The contributors take seriously the notion that theology is "always being reformed" and is always partial, ever on the way--hence it requires conversation partners beyond the Reformed family of faith. The result is a study in Reformed theology that is thoroughly ecumenical.
