Time-space Relationships Between Sediment-hosted Gold Mineralization and Intrusion-related Polymetallic Mineralization at Kinsley Mountain, NV
Author: Tyler J. Hill
Publisher:
ISBN:
Category : Geology
Languages : en
Pages : 200
Book Description
Carlin type deposits can be confused with other disseminated gold deposits hosted by predominantly carbonate-bearing sedimentary rocks that share many features with Carlin type deposits, but also have many distinctly different characteristics and generally have lower endowments of gold. An important question to resolve is whether these deposits represent a spectrum with a shared origin or whether they have different origins that resulted in similar looking alteration and mineralization. Kinsley Mountain lies approximately 150 km east of the majority of large Carlin type deposits in Nevada. Sediment hosted gold deposits, intrusion-related tungsten skarn, and polymetallic carbonate replacement vein deposits have been mined from Kinsley Mountain. This study compares the deposits at Kinsley mountain to Carlin type gold deposits.
