Book Description
Model propeller blade pressure distributions were measured using a novel technique. A single pressure gage was installed at a radial position to measure pressures at numerous chordwise locations through pressure taps and connecting channels. The technique resulted in accurate, detailed pressure distributions along two radial positions using two pressure gages. The major advantage of this technique is the ability to make measurements in the thin parts of the blade with high potential accuracy, and no disruption to the measuring surface, except for the orifice hole. The relatively along test time required to collect the data is the disadvantage. Keywords: Marine Propeller, Propeller Research Pressure Distribution, Model Experiments.

Advanced In-Flight Measurement Techniques
Author: Fritz Boden
Publisher: Springer Science & Business Media
ISBN: 364234738X
Category : Technology & Engineering
Languages : en
Pages : 347
Book Description
The book presents a synopsis of the main results achieved during the 3 year EU-project "Advanced Inflight Measurement Techniques (AIM)" which applied advanced image based measurement techniques to industrial flight testing. The book is intended to be not only an overview on the AIM activities but also a guide on the application of advanced optical measurement techniques for future flight testing. Furthermore it is a useful guide for engineers in the field of experimental methods and flight testing who face the challenge of a future requirement for the development of highly accurate non-intrusive in-flight measurement techniques.
