Book Description
This book is the first in the world literature presenting all new trends in topological fixed point theory. Until now all books connected to the topological fixed point theory were devoted only to some parts of this theory. This book will be especially useful for post-graduate students and researchers interested in the fixed point theory, particularly in topological methods in nonlinear analysis, differential equations and dynamical systems. The content is also likely to stimulate the interest of mathematical economists, population dynamics experts as well as theoretical physicists exploring the topological dynamics.

Book Description
"This accessible approach to set theory for upper-level undergraduates poses rigorous but simple arguments. Each definition is accompanied by commentary that motivates and explains new concepts. A historical introduction is followed by discussions of classes and sets, functions, natural and cardinal numbers, the arithmetic of ordinal numbers, and related topics. 1971 edition with new material by the author"--

Book Description
This textbook can be used as introduction to a general topology course at undergraduate and graduate level courses. However, many parts of this book present topological concepts that apply directly to functional analysis, which will be of interest to scholars working in those fields. In Part I, readers are eased into the main subject matter of general topology, being presented with summaries of normed vector spaces and metric spaces. Parts II to VI form the core material contained in most Basic General Topology courses. After having worked through the most fundamental concepts of topology, the reader will be exposed to brief introductions to more specialized or advanced topics of pointset topology. These are presented in Part VII in the form of a sequence of chapters, many of which can be read or studied independently or in short sequences of two or three chapters, provided that the student has mastered the previous sections.Chapters related to the more basic ideas of general topology are followed by a collection of 'concept review' questions, the answers to which are found in the main body of the text. These questions highlight the main concepts presented in that chapter, as well as ideas that are often overlooked when first encountered, which will help to test the students' understanding. The efforts required in answering correctly such questions will provide the student with the ability to solve more complex problems in the exercises collected at the end of each section.

Book Description
Investigations by Baire, Lebesgue, Hausdorff, Marczewski, and othes have culminated invarious schemes for classifying point sets. This important reference/text bringstogether in a single theoretical framework the properties common to these classifications.Providing a clear, thorough overview and analysis of the field, Point Set Theoryutilizes the axiomatically determined notion of a category base for extending generaltopological theorems to a higher level of abstraction ... axiomatically unifies analogiesbetween Baire category and Lebesgue measure . .. enhances understanding of thematerial with numerous examples and discussions of abstract concepts ... and more.Imparting a solid foundation for the modem theory of real functions and associated areas, this authoritative resource is a vital reference for set theorists, logicians, analysts, andresearch mathematicians involved in topology, measure theory, or real analysis. It is anideal text for graduate mathematics students in the above disciplines who havecompleted undergraduate courses in set theory and real analysis.

Book Description
This book offers an introduction to some combinatorial (also, set-theoretical) approaches and methods in geometry of the Euclidean space Rm. The topics discussed in the manuscript are due to the field of combinatorial and convex geometry. The author’s primary intention is to discuss those themes of Euclidean geometry which might be of interest to a sufficiently wide audience of potential readers. Accordingly, the material is explained in a simple and elementary form completely accessible to the college and university students. At the same time, the author reveals profound interactions between various facts and statements from different areas of mathematics: the theory of convex sets, finite and infinite combinatorics, graph theory, measure theory, classical number theory, etc. All chapters (and also the five Appendices) end with a number of exercises. These provide the reader with some additional information about topics considered in the main text of this book. Naturally, the exercises vary in their difficulty. Among them there are almost trivial, standard, nontrivial, rather difficult, and difficult. As a rule, more difficult exercises are marked by asterisks and are provided with necessary hints. The material presented is based on the lecture course given by the author. The choice of material serves to demonstrate the unity of mathematics and variety of unexpected interrelations between distinct mathematical branches.

Book Description
The fundamental theorem of algebra states that any complex polynomial must have a complex root. This book examines three pairs of proofs of the theorem from three different areas of mathematics: abstract algebra, complex analysis and topology. The first proof in each pair is fairly straightforward and depends only on what could be considered elementary mathematics. However, each of these first proofs leads to more general results from which the fundamental theorem can be deduced as a direct consequence. These general results constitute the second proof in each pair. To arrive at each of the proofs, enough of the general theory of each relevant area is developed to understand the proof. In addition to the proofs and techniques themselves, many applications such as the insolvability of the quintic and the transcendence of e and pi are presented. Finally, a series of appendices give six additional proofs including a version of Gauss'original first proof. The book is intended for junior/senior level undergraduate mathematics students or first year graduate students, and would make an ideal "capstone" course in mathematics.
