Book Description
In this book some new concepts were defined, and some new formulas were recommended. The Fluid Dynamics Theory for a kite has been created; the flying principle of a kite has been found and the kite flying stability was analyzed qualitatively. This book gives two calculative methods which can be used as theoretical foundation of designing and producing a kite, and the methods are the analytic one of characteristic curve and the analytic one of limit mass area ratio. This book provides abundant data which help readers to calculate a kite. If the analytic method for limit mass area ratio is applied, readers may only focus on the basic concepts in this book and are not necessary to concentrate on the illation of the formula.

Book Description
Kitesurf is a sport of surfing while holding on to a specially designed kite, using the wind for propulsion. In the field of investigation or kitesurf industry, the kite aerodynamics is a crucial point. This work tries to explain the basic aerodynamic aspects of a specific kite model in a stationary situation depending on three variables: the angle of attack, the inclination angle and the intensity of wind. Using the Ansys software, a computational fluid dynamics analysis of the aerodynamic forces acting on the kite has been done. After, the forces affecting the kiter are studied. First, a difference in aerodynamic forces acting upon this kite and a common airfoil has been seen. It has been concluded that the special combination of a movement perpendicular to the wind and the curvature of the leading edge must be the reason of this difference. The variation on the forces depending on the variables is explained. And besides, it is justified why the bow kites can generate more power than C-kites. It is only a matter of which of them has more area oriented upwards. After, the effect of the previous results on the kiter has been analized. For this reason, some limits have been taken into account for the different forces. The configuration of angles that cause the best performance is a low angle of attack for almost any of inclination angles. In addition, the studies show that the selected wind speed doesn't affect the choice of configuration.

Book Description
This concise book is intended to fulfill two purposes: to provide an important supplement to classic texts by carrying fluid dynamics students on into the realm of free boundary flows; and to demonstrate the art of mathematical modeling based on knowledge, intuition, and observation. In the authors words, the overall goal is make the complex simple, without losing the essence--the virtue--of the complexity. Modeling Axisymmetric Flows: Dynamics of Films, Jets, and Drops is the first book to cover the topics of axisymmetric laminar flows; free-boundary flows; and dynamics of drops, jets, and films. The text also features comparisons of models to experiments, and it includes a large selection of problems at the end of each chapter. Contains problems at the end of each chapter Compares real-world experimental data to theory Provides one of the first comprehensive examinations of axisymmetric laminar flows, free-boundary flows, and dynamics of drops, jets, and films Includes development of basic equations Written in a style suitable for use as a textbook
