The attestation ofiicer himself in all cases took the village map into the village itself, and-there prepared a rough sketch of the irrigation system, noting the field numbers corresponding to the rivers, channels and reservoirs, and from this and the village map the 8 inch=1 mile sketch maps, similar to that attached to the specimen record in the Appendix, were carefully prepared by the camp surveyor munsarim.
