Les particularités sensorielles et difficultés alimentaires sont désormais mentionnées dans le Manuel Diagnostique et Statistique des Troubles Mentaux (DSM-5) comme manifestations des Troubles du Spectre de l'Autisme (TSA). Les troubles alimentaires sont en effet extrêmement fréquents et bien documentés dans la population autiste pédiatrique, affectant 50 à 90 % des enfants avec TSA. Les données manquent en revanche pour les populations adulte et surtout adolescente. Les objectifs de cette étude sont d'établir une mesure de la prévalence des troubles alimentaires dans la population adolescente autiste de bon niveau cognitif et de caractériser ces troubles en termes de sélectivité, quantités et comportements alimentaires. Ce travail est réalisé au moyen de différents questionnaires ciblant chacun de ces aspects. Une comparaison avec des adolescents sans troubles développementaux majeurs est également menée. C'est une forte prévalence des troubles alimentaires, estimée à 21 à 87% des adolescents autistes de bon niveau cognitif, qui a ainsi été mise en évidence. Ces jeunes consomment une moins grande variété d'aliments que leurs pairs tout-venant et présentent davantage de problèmes de comportement au moment des repas. Les quantités consommées et les apports énergétiques ne différencient en revanche pas les deux groupes d'adolescents. Les troubles alimentaires décrits dans la population autiste pédiatrique persistent donc à l'adolescence et ce, même chez les sujets disposant de bonnes ressources cognitives. Les troubles, sensoriels et cognitifs notamment, sous-jacents à ces difficultés alimentaires mériteraient d'être investigués afin de mieux saisir l'étiologie de ces pro-blèmes alimentaires dans cette population. Cette étude témoigne néanmoins de la né-cessité pour les orthophonistes d'évaluer l'alimentation des sujets autistes, à tout âge et quels que soient leurs potentiels cognitifs, et ce, même si l'alimentation ne fait pas l'objet d'une demande spécifique. Sélectivité, quantités ingérées et comportement ali-mentaire devront être examinés.
