Introduction : le système sanitaire français est en crise, du fait d'une pénurie de médecins généralistes, mal répartis sur le territoire, et de conditions de travail diffciles pouvant favoriser le burn-out des médecins en activité. Le respect d'un bon équilibre de vie des médecins généralistes apparait donc primordial. Les conjoints des médecins généralistes apparaissent comme des témoins privilégiés de cet équilibre de vie. L'objectif principal de ce travail est d'explorer l'équilibre de vie de 3 générations de médecins généralistes : définitions, enjeux et limites, du point de vue de leurs conjoints. L'objectif secondaire est d'analyser la place et le rôle du conjoint du médecin généraliste dans cet équilibre. Matériel et méthode : Etude qualitative par entretiens individuels semi-dirigés auprès de conjoints de médecins généralistes exerçant en ambulatoire dans le département de la Loire, au cours des 50 dernières années. Résultats : La jeune génération adopte des stratégies d'intensification et de densification du temps de travail, afin de se libérer du temps pour sa vie familiale et personnelle. La conciliation travail-famille, dans des couples composés de 2 conjoints actifs, nécessite une articulation des carrières professionnelles. Le conjoint constitue à la fois une ressource et une charge dans l'équilibre de vie du médecin généraliste. Conclusion : La médecine générale est en mutation au sein d'une société qui évolue et qui aspire à un équiilibre de vie plus équitable entre devoirs professionnels et besoins d'épanouissement personnel. Face aux contraintes professionnelles de plus en plus pesantes, la jeune génération de médecins généralistes tente de se protéger en érigeant une barrière plus nette entre vie professionnelle et vie privée. Le conjoint du médecin généraliste a un rôle ambivalent : à la fois garant de l'équilibre de vie du médecin, mais aussi demandeur du même investissement dans son propre équilibre en retour.

Manthia Diawara provides an insider's account of the history and current status of African cinema. African Cinema: Politics and Culture is the first extended study in English of Sub-Saharan cinema. Employing an interdisciplinary approach which draws on history, political science, economics, and cultural studies, Diawara discusses such issues as film production and distribution, and film aesthetics from the colonial period to the present. The book traces the growth of African cinema through the efforts of pioneer filmmakers such as Paulin Soumanou Vieyra, Oumarou Ganda, Jean-René Débrix, Jean Rouch, and Ousmane Sembène, the Pan-African Filmmakers' Organization (FEPACI), and the Ougadougou Pan-African Film Festival (FESPACO).
