In this book, F. M. Scherer traces the evolution of economic growth theory from the Industrial Revolution to the present. Technology's contribution to economic growth and competitiveness has been the subject of vigorous debate in recent years. Bazhal develops Schumpeter's theory to argue that genuine economic growth - especially in transitioning and developing countries - is only possible with innovation.
