There is only futility and confusion that believers suffer from when they try to apply the program and promises from a different people to their lives. What an unfortunate blow to one's faith it is to feel as though God is not answering their prayers, to feel like they cannot understand the Bible, and to feel like something is wrong with them. But most damaging is that the love they may have had for the Holy Scriptures at one time diminishes as they struggle from a weak understanding. God Himself fully intends that the excellency of His power work in our inner man through the right understanding of His Word.
