Este documento presenta el diseño, implementación y evaluación de una red de sensores inalámbricos a ser utilizada para la auscultación de sonidos del cuerpo humano. La red es flexible y escalable, los nodos de la red son de bajo consumo y de bajo mantenimiento. Como caso de estudio, se implementó un estetoscopio portátil e inalámbrico basado en sensores piezoeléctricos con dos nodos de red, utilizando como tecnología de soporte el estándar IEEE802.15.4 y el estándar ZigBee para la configuración de una red de área personal. Como soporte de la red de sensores inalámbricos se utiliza el sistema operativo TinyOS, desarrollado específicamente para este tipo de redes.
