Book Description
For over five decades, my most powerful and intense relationship has been with my work. As a graduate student at Yale in the '60s, I began to use the phallus as a metaphor for feminism and male posturing. At the time, Yale was an all-male undergraduate program. I became fascinated with explicit graffiti that I discovered in men's bathrooms, finding inspiration in raw humor and unedited scrawls. Aggression and humor are strongly connected in my work. Beyond these themes, my work delves into the multiple layers of the human psyche. My art confronts the viewer with the urgency and complexity of human relationships - issues that perpetually arise and tension that resonate from our origins to today. (Judith Bernstein, New York, 2016).

Book Description
Helene Fischer is a professional killer who arrives in West Cumbria with instructions to shoot dead 12 people. She has two specific targets, the other ten are chosen at random. Accompanying Helene is Nasseem Ahmed, a computer hacker who is peculiarly averse to the sight of blood. The final shooting takes place at a kart circuit near Rowrah is clearly an example of world class marksmanship. Such precision convinces police that they are dealing with professionals. Henceforth, it all turns into a car-crash in more ways than one as investigations spread out to three different countries. Who has organised the hits? Could it be the high flying financier Sir Robin Coleridge-Smythe, or perhaps Jose Luis Gonzaleze, an American racing car boss? Both have strong links to one of the victims. TV Presenter Fiona Dunne asks some searching questions that eventually lead to a libel trial in the Royal Courts of Justice. However, it is Detective Sergeant Lisa Robb who finally arrives at the answer and her conclusions will shock many readers.

Book Description
"Mike Purfield’s style is fresh and blunt, sure to please even the most jaded horror reader. He is clear, crisp, shocking, and yes, at times, deliciously explicit. I have never read anything quite like this before, with his fast pacing making it a true pleasure to read." - Dream Forge "In the mood for a little hopelessness, confusion and despair? I have got just the book for you: Dirty Boots by Mike E. Purfield." - Cemetery Dance. "If you’re looking for a good read, something you’ve never experienced before, then this is the book for you." - SFReader.com Killers, werewolves, demons, angels, artists, and violent psychos. All touched by madness, evil, or good. All can be found in this giant collection of Mike E. Purfield's lost short fiction. Previously, you could only find them on the e-zines or in defunct magazines and chapbooks between 2001 and 2009. Now, for the first time, you can experience such cult classics as Jumping Jesus On a Pogo Stick, Demon Dick, or If I Should Fall From Grace With God. Sit down, cozy up, pick a story, and later wonder why you even bought this absurd book of horror fiction.

Book Description
Selected by the Modern Library as one of the 100 best nonfiction books of all time From the Modern Library’s new set of beautifully repackaged hardcover classics by Truman Capote—also available are Breakfast at Tiffany’s and Other Voices, Other Rooms (in one volume), Portraits and Observations, and The Complete Stories Truman Capote’s masterpiece, In Cold Blood, created a sensation when it was first published, serially, in The New Yorker in 1965. The intensively researched, atmospheric narrative of the lives of the Clutter family of Holcomb, Kansas, and of the two men, Richard Eugene Hickock and Perry Edward Smith, who brutally killed them on the night of November 15, 1959, is the seminal work of the “new journalism.” Perry Smith is one of the great dark characters of American literature, full of contradictory emotions. “I thought he was a very nice gentleman,” he says of Herb Clutter. “Soft-spoken. I thought so right up to the moment I cut his throat.” Told in chapters that alternate between the Clutter household and the approach of Smith and Hickock in their black Chevrolet, then between the investigation of the case and the killers’ flight, Capote’s account is so detailed that the reader comes to feel almost like a participant in the events.
