Ce travail décrit et analyse l’évolution du système consonantique d’une enfant, Marilyn, au cours de la période où s’effectuent un grand nombre de transformations dans son système de production phonologique, entre les âges de deux et trois ans. L’analyse porte plus spécifiquement sur : l’acquisition des consonnes en finale de mot et en rime branchante à l’intérieur du mot, l’acquisition du contraste de voisement, ainsi que sur des processus de substitution des fricatives par /l/, d’harmonie consonantique et de métathèse affectant le lieu et le mode d’articulation de certaines consonnes. Le cadre théorique employé pour l’analyse phonologique se base sur des représentations segmentales et prosodiques, ainsi que sur un formalisme basé sur des interactions de contraintes gouvernant les formes de surface ainsi que des relations entre formes sous-jacentes et formes de surface. Je prends également en compte des facteurs externes pouvant influencer les productions de Marilyn. Notamment, je prends en considération la physiologie spécifique au conduit vocal de l’enfant, la question du contrôle moteur des articulateurs et la fréquence des consonnes de la langue cible. Ce travail intègre ainsi à l’analyse phonologique des facteurs externes à celle-ci. Cette intégration permet de montrer qu’il existe une relation complexe mais systématique entre le système phonologique de l’enfant, d’une part, et, d’autre part, les facteurs externes à celui-ci. Le système phonologique de l’enfant réagit aux contraintes externes, ce qui a pour conséquence l’émergence de nombreux processus phonologiques dans le parler de Marilyn.
