They were members of the Amish Church. Daniel J. was born in Somerset County, Pennsylvania, and moved with his father to Lagrange County, Indiana. Daniel married twice, once in Indiana in 1861, moved to land in Reno County, Kansas, and married again in 1917. They moved to Poplar Bluff, Butler County, Missouri in 1922, where Daniel died shortly (and was buried in the Amish cemetery in Reno County, Kansas). Descendants and relatives lived in Kansas, Iowa, Missouri, Illinois, North Dakota and elsewhere.
